McKinley’s Cafe made for a great lunch stop. I ordered the soup of the day, a bowl of clam chowder. It was fantastic: creamy, comforting, and not too fishy or salty. I also tried their popular Gouda & turkey panini, and it did not disappoint.
This is a pay-before-you-sit spot, and the service was impressively fast. My food came out hot and delicious within about 10 minutes. The ambiance was casual and inviting, and the staff was very friendly. Overall, a great enjoyable experience, and I would definitely eat here again in the future. But also there’s limited parking as it is street parallel parking near by here. But well worth it.

A friend and I were in town for a hike on the Greenway and stopped here for lunch. What an adorable spot! I love how you can build your own sandwich and I was able to get exactly what I wanted and it was so tasty. Their breads and bakery make this a highly recommended stop if you’re in Shelbyville. The pasta salad was also very good.

Absolutely amazing! From warm welcoming smiles to hot, delicious food! I cannot recommend this place enough. The goat cheese and turkey panini was delicious, the cookie was so good, and I’ve never met a kinder team! So blessed to have found this gem! ALSO!! The prices are phenomenal. We left stuffed and happy. Usually today, I feel like I waste my money but this was such an honest and fair establishment from beginning to end. I cannot sing their praises enough!!

McKinley’s is absolutely INCREDIBLE. You have to pay a visit. There’s so much personality here and friendly faces for lunch.
We were already fans of the place before we even ate the food. The menu has such great choices, the atmosphere is homey, and the food was delicious and tasted exactly what the menu said.
They have desserts and fresh bread too. Plus it’s tucked away on the main street so it’s within walking distance to other places.
We will be back!

Please be careful, hamburger in chili was uncooked, brown on outside but raw inside, of big chunk.
Tomato on sandwich is down to the core (too hard) should serve center pieces.
Usually, service is pretty good.

I had their soup special of a coconut curry that was amazing and a sandwich. I also picked up some cupcakes that were delicious. They also make their own bread which I did not get at this time maybe next time I go there. The bread looked really tasty though. Cafe is situated in a old building that is really nicely done. I got a soup or salad with a sandwich and drink for $12

Local favorite for lunch. For years I’ve been getting the 615 it’s a delicious sandwich! Everything else looks so good. Maybe one day I’ll try something different. The chess bars are so good for dessert. I did pick out chocolate cookies and chocolate and cheesecake muffins to try this time. Highly recommend trying out if you haven’t. You could spend under $10 but it’s so hard not to get dessert and one of the different sides(pasta, soup or potato salad) which will put you at around $15ish.
Also, good service and quality. Can’t say I’ve ever had a bad experience here. Thank you!

We tried this cafe based on a suggestion. The food was good, the service was good, and the ambiance was laid-back. The aioli was good on the spicy roast beef, but the potato salad was a little underwhelming. Overall, it’s a nice little place to grab a quick bite.
