This is a great place for classic New England diner food. So far I’ve had the fishcakes and beans, liver and onions, American chop suey, and the Full Irish Breakfast. Servings are ample and service is quick, efficient, and very friendly

McKay’s is what a diner should be. The food and service were excellent, and the atmosphere was fine for a busy breakfast joint, people were friendly, respectful, and unhurried. I had the Full Irish Breakfast with brown bread and my wife had fishcakes and beans, everything was great

My favorite breakfast place, which I visited many times over the years! The food is great, the portions are very generous, coffee is good. The service is always nice, friendly and fast.

We love their eggs with bacon or sausages, home fries and toast, different variations of omelets, French toast and Belgium waffles. Pancakes are good, too. All taste homemade and delicious!

It’s a street parking. The area is quite busy, sometimes you need to drive around for a couple minutes, but you can always find a spot. I never had problems.

The Irish Breakfast place is a local favorite. A few years ago the space was tiny and the lines to get in were huge, you could wait 40 minutes or more. Now they significantly expanded the space and you can always get in!

There is something special about this place, highly recommend to experience it!

I had high hopes for McKays. Parking was ok. And we got seated pretty quickly. I ordered the most expensive item on the breakfast menu (I was really hungry). Then came the very long wait which was still ok. Then our meal was delivered to an adjacent table. It wasn’t until the folks at the table called the server over and then they took it off the other table and brought it to us. Im not very keen on getting an order that was already dropped at another table (if it was still in the servers hands ok but this wasn’t that)
When I asked the order to be remade – my server stated it would take a long time. My wife was ready to eat shoe leather and took her plate anyway. A few minutes later a 3rd server brought me my order and said it was remade. No apologies, nothing. My original server apparently didnt want to bother us so I had to get up and grab a 2nd set of silverware since I wasn’t given one. I was also missing the French toast which was part of my order. We got the bill, paid it and left. Still no apologies from anyone. I never raised my voice. I know my server saw me get the silverware from. Another table as she immediately put a fresh set on it after I took it. There were enough people involved that I would have expected management to at least come over. I dont think ill be coming back.

Every time I come here the waitresses are so nice and attentive!! Every time I come in the food is also ready very quickly! And it’s so yummy! I usually come here and get the Belgian waffles with bananas and strawberries and whip cream… Always fresh fruit! And the waffle is always so fluffy and yummy!
Today I decided to do something different and I got the steak tips with steak fries and broccoli and my husband got a veggie omelette with some potatoes and toast… Both of our plates were so delicious!
The turkey tips were huge, juicy and flavorful! I don’t know how they did it but, the steak fries were exactly how I like it… And I’m the pickiest person you’ll ever meet!

And not to mention, the portions are amazing and the prices can’t be beat! All this food was just 40 bucks! This is my sixth time going to McKays in the last few years… And I’ll always return!

Very comfortable place with good food and everyone seems to know everyone. I saw the corn muffins and they are my favorite so I had to get one and it was so good. They grilled it for me…if you haven’t tried that, you should. I’ll keep this place on my list next time I am in the area.
