Love the good options. Can’t wait to try the burgers. The Galway Dogs were great. Bartender makes a good black and tan. Only complaint- no Irish music!

Visited McGonigle’s first time ever to meet a buddy for lunch and really liked the dive bar homeyness. Service was prompt and friendly at the bar and I thoroughly enjoyed my double hot dog platter and had a bowl of reuben soup substituted for fries at no extra charge. Currently not consuming alcohol due to medication but will definitely go back for beers as soon as I’m off the meds.

This is an unpretentious Irish pub with a casual, cheerful atmosphere. They have plenty of drink options, and the food menu is decent. My group shared an order of mozzarella sticks, and I enjoyed a pair of beers. The staff seemed friendly, and it felt like a welcoming place. It might be a little rough around the edges, but it has plenty of charm.

My word! Don’t make our mistake, get into McGonigle’s as soon as you can! Seriously, this is Kalamazoo’s hidden gem.. tucked away where you barely see it, but man oh man.. so worth the visit!
Service was amazing, our server Lindsey was outstanding! The hostess greeted us as we entered and got us seated promptly and happily
The Food.. just check the pictures! The breaded mushrooms where so good, we got an order to go. The breading was super thin, crispy, and melts in your mouth. The fish, fries, and dogs where all perfectly done. The breading on the fish was just as thin and perfect as on the mushrooms. The beer selection was top notch. And that to go order.. even nukes later the breading was STILL perfect!
Don’t be like us and miss this hidden gem for long!

This is a great place! Excellent food and service…they are super generous with portion sizes, and have great prices. Simple atmosphere and clean dinning & bar area. There is a separate dinning room if you don’t want to dine in the same room as the bar. They always have some great specials! Check them out….

Wow! I’ve been driving by this little hidden gem for years with no idea it was even there. I’ve been to McGonigle’s to eat twice this week and going back again tonight. I just can’t get enough of those batter fried mushrooms and cod fillets. The coating is so thin, crisp and flaky. My mouth is watering just talking about it. And the cod is an actual thick fillet with tender white flakes. Their onion rings are sweet and crisp too. You really get the flavor of the food, not a mouthful of breading and oil like all the other places in kalamazoo. The service is top notch, friendly and genuine. You can tell the people who work here love this place as much as the customers enjoy going there. The only thing that would make this better is an ice cold beer. Oh wait! They have that too! Definitely love at first bite.
Update: Still the best fried mushrooms and fish in all of Michigan. This is a “must go” stop.

An Eastside Kalamazoo staple for decades! Great food, drinks & service. We went for the Thursday prime rib special dinner first, then the following week we went for lunch. Excellent drinks, hot & fresh baked potatoes, large portions of prime rib, yummy bacon cheeseburger, pan fried whitefish and the best ranch & raspberry vinaigrette dressing in town!

Be warned: their menu that was uploaded by the establishment a YEAR ago is significantly cheaper than their current prices.
I ordered an olive burger as it came on the menu—with fries, without looking at a current menu in the restaurant. I was SHOCKED when it was $4 more expensive! I actually chose eating here tonight based on the price of that burger online, trusting that they would have their most current pricing since THEY posted it. How in the world do they justify the price jump from $9.99 to 14.99?
My burger was overcooked, dry, and obviously a frozen patty. Barely any mayo, and they didn’t even bother to mix the mayo and olives, so the olives just fell right off the burger. The fries were reliably good. Definitely a meal worth the $9.99 and never $14.99!
I would LOVE to hear from them as to what they are thinking here!
