This McDonald’s delivered exactly what a McDonald’s is designed to deliver: a McDonald’s. Not a fusion gastropub. Not a locally sourced, artisanal interpretation of a hamburger. Just pure, standardized, corporate perfection.
Look, I understand not every location is identical. But the entire point of a McDonald’s is that it feels identical. You walk in and your brain goes, “Ah yes. I know this place. I know these fries. I know these decisions that led me here.”
This one? Just like every other McDonald’s. The fries tasted like McDonald’s fries. The burger tasted like a McDonald’s burger. The soda had that unmistakable McDonald’s soda energy. If you like McDonald’s, this is excellent news.
And honestly, if you’re reading reviews to decide whether or not to visit a McDonald’s… maybe take a step back and reflect. It’s McDonald’s. You already know.
It understood the assignment.
The last time my husband came here, he placed a curbside order for 2 meals and waited 35 minutes. He got home and realized the fries were gone. I had to drive back. I waited in line inside for 20 minutes as the workers talked to people in the lobby. Then they gave me cold fries to drive home with. The only reason I even come back is because I don’t want to drive into Bellingham for a happy meal for my child.
I placed a mobile order at 4:11pm. It’s currently 4:31 and I’m still waiting on it. They marked it as sent out to me at 4:19pm.
While attempting to dine in, the manager was exiting the door and said that the lobby was closed, but it’s okay, they’ll help you out, so I went in. I was tucked away in the far corner and waited for my food. After a reasonable amount of time, my food was brought to my table. I started to look around and could not believe my eyes what I was seeing, and hearing. Because I was out of sight and out of mind, they circuis quickly went live for a highly entertaining evening:
1) I’ve never seen such filth in a resturant before
2) The entire night shift crew was screaming, yelling, laughing, having a great time doing everything except for working
3) Staff drop items on the floor and joke “oops”
4) The manager “Isaac” yells to his staff, “you make me feel like a woman more and more every day!”. Real professional. . .
5) They posted a sign as I stated that the lobby was closed due to short staffing. I saw quite a few employees, didn’t look short on people, just short on work.
6) They were running back and fourth around the counter. Other employees that were aparently off the clock but hanging around (no longer in uniform), just ran back and forth between the kitchen and the pigpen.
7) Another employee just dripped his melting cone across the floor on the way to the trash can, thought it was funny.
I could go on and on, but most peeps wont read this if it gets too long, just look at the photos for yourself. Every night shift employee starting with the manager should be let go. I guess I should know better, afterall the sign outside does say “play place”, I thought that was just for the little kids. But aparently its for the big kids too. . .
