I had lunch at this McDonald’s recently. On the positive side, there’s free parking available, the staff were polite and courteous, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained.
However, my overall experience was disappointing. The ice cream machine was unavailable during my visit, and I had to wait about 20 minutes for my pie, which felt quite excessive.
While there are some good aspects to this location, the long wait time and limited menu availability made the visit less enjoyable than expected.

Well… the place was pretty clean, and it’s pretty nice inside. That’s about it!
Let me start by saying that there was nobody in the drive through, and only one other family in the lobby (maybe should have tipped me off). The service was consistent with what you’re starting to see more of… they avoid eye contact, and they don’t want you to order at the counter. I was standing at the register for several minutes, but nobody came to see me.
OK, fine, I have the app, I guess I’ll use it.
About 5 minutes later my order came out and they set it on the table with a dismissive “here”… then walked away.
I went to go get my drink and the lobby machine had a note that said “ice not working” so back to the counter I went, where I waited for a solid 3-4 minutes before I saw anyone at all.
I asked if I could get some ice from them, and I got a cold “sure” in response.
After getting my drink and heading back to my table I tasted a fry and realized they hadn’t salted them, so back to the counter I went for salt.
About 2 minutes later I caught the attention of the person in the grill.
They came forward and lifted their chin as to ask if I needed something… I asked if I could get some salt and ketchup, and they held up the appropriate bins with a familiar “here”.
At this point I didnt expect much from my chicken sandwich, but what I got was solidly the worst “deluxe” chicken sandwich I’ve had in years.
Wilted lettuce, and a thin, dry patty inside a soggy bun.
Based on the responses from the staff so far, I figured that nobody on staff would care, so I choked down most of my sandwich, finished the mediocre fries, drank my flat soda, and left.
If you’re in South Lake Tahoe looking for a decent quick fast food experience… do not stop here!

Their posted hours say they open at 5:30 AM, but I’m outside at 6:30 AM and the doors are locked and the woman inside has her back turned the whole time. I knocked on the door to try and get her attention, but she didn’t even flinch. If the hours changed, reflect it online so people like me don’t waste our time sitting outside waiting! Terrible experience, if I could give zero stars I would.

Hands down the worst McDonald’s experience I’ve ever had. About six employees were in the back completely ignoring the front with no eye contact, and no acknowledgment of customers. Table service was nonexistent, and nearly every order was incorrect. After waiting and observing for over 30 minutes, it was clear orders were being thrown into bags without being checked. Customers crowded the counter trying to get help, and I felt especially bad for DoorDash drivers who couldn’t verify sealed bags and had to return later because items were missing. Given the number of staff on duty, there was absolutely no excuse for the level of service. This clearly reflects poor management. Do yourself a favor and go to the Emerald Bay location instead and avoid this one entirely.

I genuinely hope you are not in a rush when you order from this place. Because they will mess your order not 2 but 3 times. They will also give your order to a different person without verifying. One of the worst McDonald’s I’ve been at

Got food delivered to our hotel. Food arrive cold, late, and missing items. I’m sure some of that is up to the delivery driver, but given that it was through the McDonald’s app they do not get a pass.

My last and final attempt to go into one of these places. The noise pollution and the employees didn’t even hear these noises anymore, so your food is never cooked properly.

It was extremely slow, all workers were in the back taking there time all had thick heavy accent and barely spoke English, I paid 68.95 I was owed 12.00 worth of food I couldn’t return because my family was leaving off the hill and this time it’s for good tahoe has really changed and it will only get worse. CHECK YOUR ORDER EVERYONE, THE KIDS FORGOT TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE CUSTOMERS ORDER!!!!

This mcd cant even provide clean bathrooms to paying customers. God forbid you try to pay cash. you will be ignored by all the employees pretending like their too busy to notice that their entire restaurant is being flooded. Whats the point of having table locators if the employees are too lazy to use them. all they do is what they want to do stand out back and talk crap about the customers then throw ur cold food in a bag and say come get it after waiting 2 hours for 1 cheeseburger. Theres a big sign out front that says breakfast done well that is completely wrong seriously needs new management considering its the most popular McDonald’s in the south lake area

I stopped by for a quick lunch after a day out on the lake. The technology was very frustrating during this visit. My App wasn’t letting me place a dine-in order so I went to the kiosk. When I tried placing an order there I was getting an error. Now I usually put tech issues on me as user error, but in this case it was an issue.
Now this might not have anything to do with this location’s rating. I did end up placing an order with the cashier which was good, but she was a little unsure how to take a payment. Because I used an App deal she made me use the credit card on file, but wasn’t sure if it worked or not. I took my table number and beverage cup and took a seat.
The food was not prepared correctly. Big Mac’s are the signature item for McDonald’s so when you don’t make it correctly it’s easy to notice. There was WAY too much sauce and the meat was not really hot; lukewarm. They also brought out another beverage which was okay by me, but don’t they always give a beverage cup to every guest? The best part of McDonald’s is the fries and they were good.
Overall an average experience. They might have been having an off day so I will eat McDonald’s again.
