When was the last time you walked into a McDonald’s and an employee greeted you by saying “welcome to McDonald’s” and if they were busy adding a polite, “someone will be with you in a moment”? Instead of watching these people actively avoid making eye contact, working as hard as they can to ignore the front end and any human life in the lobby? Or another mystery — when was the last time you actually got the food you ordered and paid for instead of whatever they could stuff into the bag?
I mean work sucks, but maybe a smile at least? The other reviews about the manager of this place track with my own experience. Don’t expect a conversation.
5 stars for atmosphere because this one has a play place and that’s good for the kids.

My wife and I along with our 3 boys (6, 13, 18) went to this McDonald’s location for a quick meal and it was a bad experience they refused to give my 6 year old his drink that is supposed to come with his happy meal. First said we’d have to pay for it, then blamed it on us giving the drink to our 13 year old then switched to saying we didn’t tell them that we wanted a drink with his meal, we’ll it’s supposed to come with one the manager even admitted that it was supposed to. We’re not walking into another McDonald’s we’ve had other bad experiences with service at this McDonald’s location but it’s the first time I’ve complained

Today the manager tried to charge us $6 for a bacon and egg biscuit with no bacon and egg instead of charging us for a plain biscuit. We also asked for two sides of bacon. He charged us for two sides and only gave us two slices instead. Watch the prices here and what they ring you up for. That’s not ok.

The people there are rude. I called them because I was on a 15 min break and decided to order breakfast sandwiches for my employees at work to be kind and when I called and asked for price a some kid answered and said you could have looked this up on line . I ask if he was to busy to help me and he said no .what a joke want more money and want to do less the world we live in is soft and people don’t want to do anything to help any one. SAD!

First off they make you pull into a spot and wait if the fries aren’t done so they can lie about order times….and now the “Large” fries come in a paper bag and are now the same size as a small or medium size? Do better McDonalds.

Terrible service. Apathetic, rude employees. Had to wait forever for my change. Didn’t honor an advertised sandwich special.Couldn’t care less if they lose customers. Will never go there again. I have no idea how they stay in business.

I would like to preface this review by stating upfront that it is in no way hyperbolic.
This is the best McDonald’s in the entire universe.
I don’t know if there are any other planets that have Mcdonald’s, and I don’t really want to think about that too much, but I can say without hesitation that the Arcata McDonald’s is the best.
In the morning I am greeted with a very expedient crew who always gets my orders perfectly right and stacks them in the bag with consideration to the weight of things.
The sandwiches are always made like they are for a McDonald’s-propaganda photo shoot. Whoever is running this place has them whipped very well into shape.
I’m also greeted frequently by a person on the microphone in the morning who speaks with an Australian accent sometimes. It’s magic. People like him are helping this pandemic go by a little easier, adding some levity to the morning of folks who are willing to have it. It was just a subtle change of his accent before I engaged with him, and then it became a nice little exchange of impersonations within the natural gaps in the transaction.
When it comes to the night crew they are just as on fire if not more so. The sandwiches are always picture perfect, the people are always cordial, no matter the difficulties they may be having, and my food is always hot and fresh.
And when I speak of difficulties that they may be having I mean to say that at this particular location I have been here when there were 25 cars in the Drive-Thru at 2:00 a.m..
I have also been here when there were a number of police vehicles with their lights on in the hotel parking-lot immediately adjacent to the drive-in line and it was like some sort of SWAT team response.
Throughout that particular experience Employee Liza maintained the poise of a bomb unit technician, even through my frantic questioning as to what may be going on.
When it comes to covid-19 preparedness and/or mitigation strategies this McDonald’s uses flawless techniques in their mask and glove employment.
The way the sandwiches are stacked so perfectly and the wrappers are folded so perfectly and it’s stacked so perfectly in the bag I just get the impression that it’s all completely sterile.
And that makes me feel really safe in this strange time.
