I think this is the first McDonald’s I’ve ever ran into with no drive thru service. It was fine and I got my food, but be prepared to use a kiosk and if you know Spanish, it would probably be helpful. They speak English too, but it looks like their regulars are all Spanish speaking. Mind you, I only visited in the morning, so that’s when these people get up to WORK. Maybe later in the afternoon when the more privileged wake up, there is more English.

It’s McDonald’s, so you already know the quality and product. What makes this place great is the convenience of location, bathroom availability, gas, and most importantly is the Late Hours. This location is great for long travel stop and convenience of late hours .

I need just some hot coffee this time and for this cold and rain day in San Mateo. This McDonald’s is a big stand alone with a big parking lot also they are always busy.

My big complaint was the sign that says no free soda refills. It’s bad enough mcdonalds got rid of the drink bars in many locations and now you now longer will offer a refill that costs about 5 cents! I will visit other locations instead. Really, if they did 50 free refills and day, what does it cost them? $2.50. Not good business sense as they would make that back by saving one customer in profit in one day.

Placed an order on the kiosk at 0841 and received it at 0905. Bacon egg and cheese biscuit with a coffee and hot chocolate. Lady KS#2 short change me $5. Gave her a $20 and she gave me three dollars and some change. Asked her about it and then she gave me the cash. Absolute disaster with the people running this place. Food good.

Convenient location, near the 92 and 101. Easy to get food if you order through the app, but if you want to order in person during lunch/dinner rush hours, there is always a line. Parking is usually no issue, as there’s a decent free parking lot. However, there is no drive-thru, and the traffic on El Camino could complicate the entry/exit process.

They ruined the restaurant when they remodeled it. There used to be a long counter with multiple cash registers where humans took your order and there was an open view into the kitchen so you could see the food prep.
Now there’s a wall closing off the kitchen and only a small counter where they drop off your order. The vibe is very cold and impersonal now and despite the cutbacks in cashiers because people order via a touchscreen the prices are still higher than ever.
