It is what it is. The food is pretty much the same at every MacDonald’s in the US (except some regional items) but this restaurant stands out for the people. Owner, counter and wait staff, and cooks are all wonderful folks. I have eaten here dozens if not hundreds of times and the only negative experience I have had was at the drive-thru. I ordered my breakfast from home a couple of miles away at 10:15 and got in line at 10:25. I got to the first window where you pay (unless you paid online) at 10:31. The girl at the window told me it was too late for breakfast (10:30). But I parked and went inside and they gave me my breakfast. All’s well that ends well I guess. I don’t use the drive-thru here anymore but their curbside service is just as quick…sometimes even faster if there’s a long line at the drive-thru. This is my preferred MacDonald’s in Simi though I think the same nice lady owns three of them, Tapo, Galena, and Yosemite. They’re all good!

A pretty standard, clean, and efficient enough McDonald’s. Like most they’ve converted to the ordering kiosks which makes me feel old and sad, but such is life.

This particular location is sort of… Dark and a little sad? That’s the only memorable distinction between it and the thousand other McDonald’s just like it.

Bad customer service in the dining room. Ignore you and they say oh I don’t wanna take your order right now. I’m too busy with the damn drive-through not good. Need to fix this problem. It’s a gray haired lady in there that acts like the manager. She’s so rude and unkind to people. She’s so worried about the drive-through. She can’t take care of the counter or even help you. I walked out.

I stopped by this McDonald’s location since I was across the street at the Tmobile store. I got the alert about the Big Mac deal through the app and using the mobile order so I did that. The app is totally broken because the clock delay like 3 minutes so it’s not in sync. Going through the drive thru was easy because there was only 1 car in front of me. The app knew when I was around the store so it give me the mobile code. When you pull into the ordering box, it will ask if you’re using the mobile app first. After I said yes, the worker responded and I give him the code. When I pulled to the first window, I asked if I could get light ice on my coke and he said that’s fine. When I pulled to the second window, they handed me my drink and ask if I wanted any sauces so I said ketchup. It didn’t take long for my order to be ready. REMEMBER TO ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDER AND DRINK YOUR SODA BEFORE LEAVING. I took a sip of my drink and it was ice tea so I told them and they refilled it with soda but not with light ice and not filled to the top. Then they forgot to give me ketchup in the bag and position the French fries the wrong way so it of course spilled. The only good thing was that they give me a decent amount of fries and didn’t just give a little like other Mcdonalds location has. The Big Mac was okay and they followed my customization by asking for no onions or pickles.

The customer service at this location is awful. Employees will not make eye contact with customers and will actively ignore them.
I understand Drive Thru is priority but having to wait 15 minutes for a Diet Coke when you’re inside the restaurant is a bit too much.

The employees lack proper training. It is difficult for them to make items such as coffee or to correctly differentiate between “diet” and “regular” soft drinks. All you need to do is push the button that says “Diet”, it should be quite simple, but it’s an ordeal for the employees at this location.

Hopefully things will change? Who knows.

UPDATE: Same server made a very similar mistake, but this time with Diet Coke. Is it so difficult to look at the drink you’re pouring and push the “Diet Coke” button? One will never know. Please hire people that are able to read words.

I’ve had multiple experiences at this McDonald’s, often opting for its convenience. However, the morning service consistently disappoints. The wait time after placing an order regularly exceeds 10 minutes, and excuses like a broken toaster or coffee machine issues are frustratingly common. This morning, despite checking in at 7:39 am, I had to enter the store at 7:56 am to inquire about my order. The drive-thru operated efficiently, but my time was running short to get my kids to school. The manager attributed the delay to a broken toaster, and to make matters worse, my order was incorrect—they included egg despite my explicit request for none due to my son’s allergy. I wouldn’t recommend this location, and I’d advise avoiding Murphy-owned McDonald’s in town, excluding those on LA Ave. The overall experience leaves much to be desired.

Worst McDonald’s in the area. Every so often I swing through to see if it has improved at all, but almost without fail something is wrong with the order. They are also pretty consistent about up charging you for a larger size without asking. Also, the drive through is consistently slow.

I was at the drive thru window for about 10 mins and no one ever said anything so I drove up to the payment window; told the gentleman that no one ever helped me and he went ahead and took my order. When I got my order, it was all wrong. What a disappointment.

I honestly hate this place and will never come back to this location, the employees are obnoxiously rude and stupid. The food looks demolished and the fries are always scattered everywhere in the bag. My daughter and her friend were speaking about something that had nothing to do with the manager and he disagreed with their opinion as if he was in the conversation. Rudest people ever and such such long lines. Never ever coming back to this shack.
