While using the drive-thru, I placed an order for two double cheeseburgers, plain, with quarter-pounder patties. When I noticed that the order screen showed only one double cheeseburger, I politely said “hello” and “excuse me” over the drive-thru intercom to correct the mistake.
Instead of responding professionally, the cashier—who identified himself as Gavin—raised his voice and aggressively said, “I ASKED YOU IF THERE’S SOMETHING ELSE!” I calmly explained that the order was incorrect and that I had ordered two double cheeseburgers. As I approached the window, I also stated that there was no need for him to be rude, as I was only trying to correct an error in my order.
Gavin continued to act in a confrontational and dismissive manner, stating that I should understand he was “dealing with money” and “trying the best he could,” and later claimed he could not hear me. At no point did he apologize or attempt to de-escalate the situation. A female supervisor took over to complete my payment but did not acknowledge the incident or offer an apology for her employee’s behavior.
I am a regular customer at this location and often visit to purchase food for my daughter. This experience was upsetting and unnecessary. In my opinion, Gavin demonstrated a serious lack of basic customer service skills, professionalism, and manners. Mistakes happen, but raising one’s voice and becoming combative with a customer who is calmly correcting an order is unacceptable.
Only one issue with a manager in the parking lot due to their poor driving skills.
Definitely recommend.
