Fast Service, Average Dine-In Experience
I dined in at the McDonald’s in Gunnison and was impressed by how quickly my order was ready — barely a few minutes after I ordered at the counter. The staff were friendly and efficient, which made the experience smooth.
The food was exactly what you’d expect from McDonald’s — decent but not outstanding. My burger was warm, and the fries were fresh, though a bit salty.
The dining area was just okay. Tables were mostly clean, but the floor needed attention, and the restrooms weren’t in the best shape. It felt like speed was the priority here, which they nailed, but the cleanliness and overall atmosphere could use some improvement.
If you’re hungry and in a hurry, this spot does the job. Just don’t expect much more than the basics.

We travel Highway 50 several times a year (10 or so). We stop at McDonald’s for the convenience. Every time we stop, we swear it’s the last time. I don’t believe the owner/management give a crap if the food is prepared correctly or if the employees are nice. Never hear a “thank you”, “have a safe trip”, or have a good day. You would think, if these kids/adults are preparing for a career, they would want to accumulate some work ethics. I would not hire a snotty person such as these in my business.

EDIT: We came in today, Sept 16th. We had to order from the kiosk. No cups, no napkins, straws, ketchup cups. The whole drink area was dirty. The floors are nasty. They haven’t been mopped in a while. They weren’t yesterday. The bathroom is still dirty, trash over flowing. There was toilet paper. They left a huge roll of toilet paper on the sink. There was barely any water coming out of the faucet. It was the only one that worked.

All McDonald’s are terrible now, but this one had no customer service. When customers approached the counter the employee walked away and didn’t come back. She didn’t say “I’ll be back in a few minutes” she didn’t say, “please use the computer to order” In fact, the customers were more helpful to other customers than the employees.

We live 3 hours out of Gunnison but drive through here pretty frequently on road trips, and it’s become a sort of tradition to stop at this particular McDonald’s. Over the years we’ve been stopping here, the food has ALWAYS been hot, fresh, well seasoned and well made. They’ve never once gotten our order wrong. We continue to be impressed and wish y’all could teach other McDonalds a thing or two!

I was going to order food and wanted to ask a question before I did so I got in line. The person working the front came and took the order of the people in front of me then ran off as I stood there at the cash register instead of taking my order or talking to me at all, rude. I didn’t order and took my business elsewhere. In this world of online ordering and kiosks some people still want to order at the register and so ignoring them when you are the one running the register and taking orders, your job BTW, is terrible customer service.

EXTREMELY slow service and rude staff. Waited 30 minutes, watching them ignore the pickup orders in favor of drive-thru. They marked my order “Ready” after 5 minutes, even though I waited another 25 minutes for food. Staff wouldn’t help people who had incorrect orders, instead giving the customers attitude and saying “you need to give me a minute!”
In 30 minutes I could have sat down in a diner, received real food and fast service, and the staff would probably be a lot nicer.

recently visited McDonald’s and wanted to take a moment to applaud the employees at this location. The service was fast, friendly, and professional—something that often gets overlooked these days. The staff made sure my order was right and handled everything with a good attitude, which I genuinely appreciate.
That said, I can’t help but notice the portion sizes just aren’t what they used to be. The burgers seem smaller, the fries don’t quite fill the container like they once did, and overall, the value feels like it’s taken a hit compared to years past. It’s not just inflation it’s almost like the “super-size” era has vanished entirely.
Still, credit where credit is due: the people working here are doing a great job. It’s not their fault corporate keeps shrinking the products. So, while I miss the old McDonald’s portions, I’m grateful for the hard-working crew that makes the visit worthwhile.

I have tried this McDonald’s a few times and each time I think it will be different from before that maybe they was just having a bad day, but nope after 4 times in the last 3 months each experience has been just as bad. The customer service is really bad at this location, each time at the windows the person always in a bad mood. You place am order on the app just be prepared it will be made how they want to make it and not how you order it. The disregard any options the app gives you because they want to make it how they have it already made so they dont have to make fresh anything. The order of fries each time has been old like they have set there for alittle while oh and if you dont want the new shake flavor with the adult happy meal tin deal they really get mad about that. We picked strawberry as it was an option on the app and the lady argued about it saying it was not allowed then why is the option on the app. Hopefully your visit you catch them on a good day and have a better visit then our 4 tries.
