I grew up going to tha movies on Saturdays at tha Deluxe Theater. I had tha privilege of working on the civil site work plans for tha renovations of this place. It was just a shell. Four walls and a collapsed roof. Tha structural engineers and tha architects did a fantastic job on tha restoration. My work was done outside. I designed the front sidewalk area and tha drop off zone. I designed both parking areas. The one on tha west side near the church, as well as tha one behind tha theater. I had fun creating tha plans, as well as acquiring tha permits, and meeting with numerous folk involved in bringing a dream to reality. Especially Dianne Jimmerson Pollard, a former professor at Texas Southern University, and part of tha drama school there. BTW, as of 2025, her son is a Houston City councilman. His name is Edward Pollard.
I’ve been to several events previously at tha Deluxe Theater. This particular one was for a film screening of tha movie ATL. They finally got a projector and can do movies as well as plays.

Use to be the best McDonald’s in Baytown, now I guess they only hire people that can’t read, tag says no onions so I guess in McDonald’s lingo that means extra onions, gee thanks.
Also if you go inside be prepared for random people to walk up asking for money, seems to be the new normal around this place.

The most horrible McDonald’s u can come too. With time is long even if they are over staffed. Rude… they dont even give u time to give them the code. If u take to long then when u try and give ur order they dont respond like its a game of who can do it longer. They need a staff clean up immediately. 10/21/2025 the only response from the store owner/ manager is a link that doesn’t even work. CLEARLY it doesn’t take a smart person to see the pattern that is not being addressed by the store owner manager because every review says the same thing im saying and more. POOR SERVICE, OVERSTAFFED WITH RUDE EMPLOYEES WITH VERY LONG WAITS….. AND NO MANAGER IN SIGHT. IF SO THEY ARE SO UNPROFESSIONAL THEY BLEND IN WITH THE KIDS WORKING THERE. Horrible McDonald’s location.

*Atmosphere was lots of homeless in the area. It’s very said. I wish I could help them all. I was shocked at how rude others were even staff at McDonalds are towards these homeless people. You could tell they’re disgusted by their presence. I’ve been homeless before I know how hard it is to get out of that situation. You can’t apply for a job because you don’t have a cell phone or address to put on the application to even apply for a job. It takes a miracle somebody to step out and give you a helping hand to get back on your feet but the way these people look at these folks out here it’s almost like they’re not even human. It’s so sad.

The problem with this mcdonald’s is they clear the order from their screens way too fast so it doesn’t look like they are slow. However they are extremely slow. I placed an order at 12:21pm with two other people in front of me, I did not receive my order until 12:36 pm. And I believe the reason for that is they were getting all the orders confused because they were clearing them from their screens before they were delivered to the customer.

I have never had problems in the drive through other than when there’s a long line. Inside though, it is disorganized and they mess up orders frequently. When wanting to pick up an order, the employees stood without knowing what to do and proceeded to wait until I asked again for the order. They don’t wear hairnets, wear jewelry, and don’t make cleanliness a priority.

Always fresh food! The only McDonald’s I will eat at in Baytown. Good pit stop for travelers also! Loves is next door and they have clean restrooms.
