After sitting there for 10 minutes, the app tells me that the spot I had parked at was invalid and to go up to the front counter. I noticed one of the curbside pickup employees walking back inside after handing another order off to another vehicle. When I ask her about it she shrugs and keeps walking.
Okay, fine whatever.
I head inside, and the lady at the counter was extremely rude when I showed her my app WITH the order still pulled up. She barely glances at the screen and tells me that they stop serving breakfast at 10:30am. It’s 10:31am at this point. I explain I had placed the order at 10:15am, which if she actually looked at the screen she would’ve seen that. Lovely.
She calls a manager(?) who explains that the new updated system doesn’t show them orders that have been placed ahead of time and that they never saw it.
1. I placed my order to be picked up immediately, I don’t even know if you can put in to pick up at a future time.
2. Other customers in other vehicles parked at the curbside pickup spots were getting their food, which you can only get IF you order ahead on the app (mind blowing, right? )
I ended up having to wait 10 minutes before my food and drink is in my hands. While standing in line, I hear the woman at the register – the SAME woman who told me they stop serving breakfast at 10:30am by the way – tell another customer that they stop serving breakfast at 11:00am. Which is it? It’s 10:40am by the time I get back in my car.
Obviously the lady up front was incredibly rude and unprofessional, as well as incompetent if she doesn’t even know when they stop serving breakfast.
It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten at McDonald’s, but this morning was a pleasant surprise. After finishing physical therapy and waiting for my ride, I decided to step inside Micky D’s on South 4th Street in Leavenworth, Kansas. It was cold and windy outside, but the restaurant was warm, clean, and welcoming.
I placed my order on the kiosk and then paid at the front counter. The woman at the register greeted me with genuine kindness. When I asked if I had enough left to add an apple pie to my order, she told me I was just about 18 cents short. I dug a little change out of my pocket, and she added it with a smile. That small moment of courtesy really stood out.
Now I’m sitting here enjoying my breakfast, grateful for the good service and warm atmosphere. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the McDonald’s in Leavenworth — they took great care of me today.
We ordered through the drive-thru. Pulled up to first window to pay. Sat there. And sat there. Nobody opened the window or acknowledged us so we pulled up to the next window…where they refused our payment. Would not take it. Told us we had to pull around and try again. So we sit in the drive-thru line again and finally pay at the first window, BUT when we pull up to the next window, after all of this, our food isn’t ready and we are told to pull around AGAIN. Our meal was missing items to boot! So frustrating.
Sad..sad sad service after the order.
Update: Very promptly after this review, McDonald’s corporate reached out to me and apologized for the situation. They passed my feedback on to the store and refunded my money. I’m very impressed with the response from corporate. It shows a deep willingness to make their patrons satisfied and to fix the root cause of the issue. Thank you McDonald’s for making this right!
