Luckily, there was no wait today.
Today, I had a burger ordered with no pickles or onions- it had pickles on the bottom under the patty (it’s normally on the top, so that seemed kind of intentionally sneaky). I had 2 other burgers ordered with no onions- both had onions on them. -these were all for my children. They still ate their food, however, even I hate eating a McDouble that has dehydrated onions. When you scrap them off it also takes the condiments with it.
I ordered myself a $5 meal deal with a McChicken… I didn’t even receive my McChicken. I live about 7 minutes away. I was going to return and get my sandwich but the nuggets SUCKED. I didn’t want to waste my time and gas going to get a McChicken with possibly the same quality.
We didn’t receive ANY of the sauce we ordered, either.
But the fries were amazing!
This location is going downhill and needs to be closed. There is a young manager in there that is nasty to customers. I don’t expect 5 star food but my decision to finally stop going is when I was served food that literally tasted rotten. Their solution was to continue to serve that food to other customers, gave us a refund on what we ordered and if we wanted to eat there we had to purchase something else . My family ended up sick after eating the little that they did.
It was just be humble and kind to replace my rewards or digitally send cash. I never asked you anything one time in my life where I’m sitting in a broken down car crying, wanting some form of help: food, gas, lodging , car repairs-full coverage but a $1000 deductible and to have the car towed to get the car. I have full coverage. It’s just I don’t have the money to pay the tow truck upfront which mechanic to take it to and then the deductible. I hit the deer starting at 4 AM, stayed awake on a dark country road, and then just wanting breakfast and being broke. To ha I g my car alarm continuously go off. Si tired
Walking in (or driving through) this McDonald’s, you’re greeted by fluorescent lighting, plastic seating, standard fast-food décor. No linen, no candlelight — instead, you get utilitarian tables, trays, the aroma of fryer oil, and the hum of the drive-thru. Efficiency is the design. It serves its purpose very well, though the sense of theatre or elevated ambiance is, of course, absent. For what it is, it’s clean enough, though local reviews suggest that consistency in cleanliness and upkeep is an issue.

Service
Again, viewed through a “haute cuisine” lens, the service aims for speed rather than ceremony. Staff are expected to be friendly, but reviews point to mixed performance. Some patrons say orders are often wrong, or missing items; others appreciate when things go smoothly. Wait times are short when the restaurant isn’t swamped, but slow service has been flagged in reviews.

The Food
Here we shift from ambiance to the most important part: the flavors, textures, the execution. What can McDonald’s in Coloma offer, and how does it measure up when held to a high standard?
Strengths:
Consistency in core menu items: Burgers like the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, McChicken are familiar and, when done right, hit the expected notes — the sesame bun, the sauce, the pickles, the processed cheese. If the staff follow the standard procedures, there’s nothing dramatically offputting.
Fries and sides: McDonald’s fries are globally recognized; here, they tend to be at their best when fresh, crisp, golden, well-salted. Sides like hash browns for breakfast follow the same principle — crisp and hot are the metrics.
Comfort factor: The food delivers what people come for: fast satisfaction, predictable flavors, familiarity. There’s a pleasure in knowing exactly what you’re getting.
Weaknesses:
Lack of refinement: The patty may be too thin, the bun soggy in spots, the sauce uneven, the temperature inconsistent. These are common in fast food, but against a Michelin standard, they’re obvious shortcomings.
Ingredient quality and originality: There’s little in the way of ingredient provenance, creative combinations, or unexpected flavor pairings. Substitutions for freshness or local produce are minimal.
Execution under pressure: On busy shifts or via delivery apps like DoorDash, reviews indicate issues: incorrect orders, missing fries or condiments, parts undercooked.

Highlights & Low Points
Highlight: When timing and staffing align, a fresh burger with a crisp bun, properly melted cheese, hot fries, and a clean presentation can be unexpectedly satisfying. A well-made McMuffin in the morning can hit the sweet spot of breakfast comfort.
Low point: If the fries are limp, if a sandwich arrives cold, if the drive-thru mix-ups happen — then the experience dips significantly. One especially serious report: hair in food. That’s obviously unacceptable under any standard.

Value
For what it offers, the price is reasonable. You’re not paying for fine dining — you’re paying for convenience, speed, familiarity. In that context, McDonald’s in Coloma gives acceptable bang for your buck. The “value meals” do what they promise: filling portions, recognizable tastes. However, when the food is mishandled, or service slips, the value diminishes quickly.
