Since 1937, McCrossen’s has been a Fairmount neighborhood favorite for seekers of American craft beer, a casual meal, and a vintage atmosphere. From our famous Tavern Wings to sophisticated dishes using locally sourced ingredients, our menu has something for everyone — and delicious drinks to boot. We are proud to be the official U.S. tasting room for New Zealand’s Decibel Wines, and our mixologists are the craftiest you’ll find. There’s nothing better than enjoying a glass inside with friends or diving into a plate of comfort food on our spacious porch. Whatever the day calls for, we can’t wait for you to join us.

European & American fare paired with craft beer in a brick-lined gastropub that also serves brunch.

McCrossen’s Tavern in the Fairmount area is a really great spot to grab food with family or meet up with friends for a relaxed meal and drinks. The atmosphere is one of the first things you notice when you walk in—it’s cozy, welcoming, and has that classic neighborhood tavern feel. It’s not overly large, but it comfortably holds around 50 to 100 people, making it feel lively without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy your time without feeling rushed.
The service was quick and friendly from the moment we sat down. The staff was attentive and made sure everything came out in a timely manner. One unique feature is their wine selection, as McCrossen’s is the official tasting room in the United States for Decibel Wines, which is a really cool touch if you’re into wine or looking to try something different beyond the typical bar offerings.
For food, I ordered the roasted pork sandwich with long hots along with a Guinness. The Guinness was fresh, cold, and poured perfectly. The sandwich itself was massive and packed with flavor. It was a bit messy and greasy, but that’s honestly part of what makes it so good and authentic. The fries were a standout—crispy, well-seasoned, and easily some of the better bar fries I’ve had. We also ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and a wrap, and both were very large portions, filling, and flavorful.
Overall, the prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you receive. McCrossen’s is a great place for solid bar food, drinks, and a comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it and would come back again to grab food or just hang out at the bar for a few drinks.

So fun!! HOT and SPICY is on the menu today on International Hot and Spicy Food Day ️ ️ ️ ️
It’s not just spicy, it’s Philly spicy as we find ourselves at McCrossen’s Tavern in Philadelphia, PA where “every day is spicy and hot!” According to David the Bartender.
Indeed, McCrossen’s is known for their famous Tavern Wings, and the XXX Carolina Reaper version which are wings with “some of the world’s hottest peppers like Carolina Reapers, ghost peppers, and scorpion peppers, mixed with smoky habaneros and citrus for intense heat, requiring gloves and caution, with a bell to ring if you can’t handle the burn.”

We did not have those
We did have the Habanero Tavern Wings, the Bang Bang Shrimp and the Bang Bang Deviled Eggs.

It can get crowded and you may have to wait for a table. We snagged seats at the bar. Everything was delicious. The drinks were generous, the beer cold. What more can one ask for?

Loved this place- the atmosphere was very welcoming and cheerful. The foods were top notch. I must mention their coffee is amazing too. Overall a nice, hospitable place to hang out in neighborhood. I recommend this place.

This local pub ended up serving some of the best food I had all weekend in Philly. My wife and I went around to a bunch of different spots, and this was easily our favorite. She grabbed the limited-time turkey gobbler sandwich, I went for the roast pork, and both were so good that we wound up swapping halves.

The beer list was similar to most places in the area, but solid. I went with a Hazy IPA, and my wife drank the Sixpoint Crisp. Both were great beers and tasted great on tap. Any gripe I could come up with would just be nitpicking.

Next time we’re in Philadelphia, this pub is officially on our “must-do” list. Prost, Cheers, Slainte!

The Brussel sprouts were delicious!!
I’m gluten-free, so I Ordered a burger no bun and got a side salad instead of fries. It was good. Forgot a photo of brussel sprouts that were so tasty.

I love this place!! But we were just there and ordered a FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH and I got a grilled chicken with all of the opposite items I’d asked for. I always have high hopes for this place and while the atmosphere and dining-in is superb, I’m SO disappointed in this gross, poor effort of a to-go order I received. Bummer!

We had a great meal after visiting the art museum! The drinks were excellent (espresso #1 and smashley). The fried brussel sprouts were some of the best I’ve had in recent memory. The cheese steak and chicken wings did not disappoint.

Despite being busy on Labor Day with limited staff, the service was top notch and super friendly. Glad I found this joint!

Wanted to try the short rib dip sandwich I heard so much about but didn’t realize they had a shortened late night menu which is completely understandable. Short menu aside the tomato whipped ricotta with bread blew me away, I genuinely could not stop scraping the plate. I got the chicken cheesesteak as well which was definitely filling and delicious but tonight the star of the show was the ricotta. The bartender who served me tonight was also amazing. I didn’t get his name but the receipt was under Lavish L. Whoever you are, thank you for ending my night on the perfect note! Will be coming back to try the short rib dip and french onion soup as well! Love this place

Went back recently. They are understaffed on a Friday night and the service shows. Staff is doing their best but it’s slipping. We ordered starters but all the food came out kind of at once, apps, mains…last dish out was the salad. Fries were lukewarm. And it’s LOUD. We probably won’t return.

Outstanding pub. Happy hour made me happy. Chris is an excellent, affable server. The fries were excellent. Happy to have this place so close to home.
