We’re in the area visiting Carlsbad and Guadalupe NPs and stopped in for lunch. Food was pretty decent however it took a while to get our food. It didn’t seem overly crowded when we were there. Overall a good stop for lunch but be aware of the longer wait time for your food.

We LOVE McAllisters! But I will say this location didn’t not make what we ordered. Husband ask for NO tomatoes.. he got tomatoes, so he basically had to deconstruct his sandwich and put it back together. I asked for avocado which keep in mind is an extra charge and I did not have it on my sandwhich.. very disappointed! Not to mention all sandwhiches come with pickles.. we didn’t get a single pickle! It also stated the correct items on the sticker that was on each sandwich. Which indicates workers are not paying attention to detail of orders!

I have never had such awful food from McAlister’s as I did tonight. I order Choose 2, soup and it was supposed to be Chicago style French dip, person put in for regular French dip. It took 35 minutes for my food to come out and they weren’t busy. My sandwich and soup were cool/barely warm. They took it back to warm up (of course in the microwave) which made the meat rubbery.

It took quite a while to receive our food, when we did it was luke warm, portion size was extremely small, hardly any meat in our sandwiches, my 8yr old had the pick 2 and he wasn’t even full. The staff was friendly and kept our drinks full but definitely not worth the $60.00 we spent, we even ordered an appetizer after our meal because we were still hungry, so about $70.00, NOT worth it at all. It was also very cold in the restaurant, we wanted a hot meal and break from the cold outside but that didn’t happen.

On vacation here and decided to stop and check the place out. Glad we did. Two of us split a footlong French dip. Tasted light, fresh, and on so satisfying. We could have used a bit more au jus. Hubby liked the potato salad. I chose a bag of chips. After you order they bring the food to your table. Our server was kind enough to bring us an extra plate, without us asking. We saw the peach cobbler cheesecake while we were eating and just had to try. Very tasty.
The atmosphere is nice, nothing fancy, but definitely a step up.
We didn’t know we had one close to home, but glad we do, so joined the rewards club. I think we’ll be frequenting there often.

We waited for an extremely long time for our food to actually come even though the restaurant was not busy at all. They got our order wrong. They had like two people working. The people were kind, but obviously didn’t know what they were doing. The food was all cold by the time we got it. The restaurant was also too cold. This experience was definitely not a good one. Would not recommend.

This was our first time eating at McAllister. Not sure what the hype is about we’ve only gone 2 times. I guess since the sandwiches are “fancier” here. Overall our experience was good. Nothing out of this world but good sandwiches. Service was great, we ordered shortly after we got our food. We had ordered 3 sandwiches. We all had the Pick Two. My mother had the Reuben & the southwest chicken & avocado salad w/ side pickle. My fiance had the Spicy southwest chicken without the black bean relish w/ mac & cheese. I had the Grilled chicken sandwich w/ Mac & cheese w/ side pickle.

They dont care about the job mixed up plated with right orders and gave us no care they act more like they are bothered by in store dinners well filling orders. Also didn’t have supplies in the rest room had to ask for the drinks we paid for 3 times and the young lady and man serving was acting inconveniente not agin.

First, It was over 45 minutes before we got our order and the only reason we got it then was I ask in front of 1 person waiting at the register and he said he would make sure mine was next. About 5 minutes later I got a cold bowl of soup and my husband got an inedible sandwich (croissant hard as a brick and chicken salad that tasted like cream cheese). It was 10 more minutes before I got my plain baked potato (I ordered it with sour cream but wasn’t going to wait for that to be fixed.When we got there only 1 other person there. I will never go back
