I ordered the 6″ French Dip with Cajun Red Beans & Rice and a Party Punch. My wife ordered the Choose Two with a McAlister’s Club and a Chicken Bacon Ranch Spud and a Strawberry Lemonade. The french dip was good, and the au jus really ties that sandwich together. I liked the taste of the red beans & rice, but the texture of the beans was different than I enjoy (a little more al dente). The party punch is the way to go. Not sure if the syrup went out on the strawberry lemonade, but it was more watered down, but the party punch was flavorful and addicting. My wife loved her meal and said it’s her favorite deli of all time.

Hayley is the magical presence at McAlister’s Deli who enhances your visit and sets this place apart. She greeted us as we entered, gave helpful recommendations when we ordered, and checked on us periodically through our stay. Hayley gets all the credit for the 5-star service.

The restaurant is in a good location. I can’t remember which fast food chain used to be here (probably a Burger King or something), but they did a good job making it their own. There’s plenty of parking, although the prime spots go quick. The heat from the heater was a little too high for me, but that’s personal preference.

I enjoyed my visit. I’ve had McAlister’s in the South, and this location lives up to the standards. It’s better than Zupas and Panera, but not as good as Paradise Bakery (which pretty much doesn’t exist anymore, except in Dallas). Because it’s my wife’s favorite deli of all time, I’ll be back.

Driving by I noticed this deli and decided to stop and grab takeout for dinner. I was impressed with the fast service and friendly staff—definitely a welcoming deli atmosphere. I ordered through the drive up and they brought it out to my car within 5 minutes.
I ordered a Club sandwich and a Reuben. Both sandwiches had a good amount of meat, which I appreciated. The Club came on plain wheat bread, which was a bit underwhelming, and while the Reuben had nicely marbled rye, it really needed to be toasted to bring out the flavor and texture. That small change would’ve made a big difference!

Also tried the crab chowder—unfortunately, it wasn’t a hit for me. It had a strong spicy kick and didn’t taste homemade. On the other hand, the Savannah salad was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious—definitely the highlight of the meal.
Before leaving I realized they forgot my soup, ran in and they upgraded to a bowl instead of a cup.. and threw in a chocolate chip cookie for the mistake. Great cookie!

I’d absolutely come back to try more items. The place has great potential, but please toast the bread—it would take the sandwiches up a notch! Oh and chop up the cucs smaller. Little changes would make big difference.

I am a complete sandwich connoisseur, you could ask anyone that knows me. And this is place probably in my top 3 for Italian sandwiches. When I’m knew to a place like this, I always order an Italian off the bat since it’s a great sandwich to gather a gauge for a deli. They hit that out of the park! Also have to credit the young kid that came to check on us halfway through our meal. Who does that at a deli? You can tell that they take pride (which is reflected in their prices).

I love this place. The employees here are always so pleasant and friendly. It is always clean and well taken care of. The food is great I haven’t had anything there yet that I don’t like. I have eaten at other McAlister’s in other states and all of them have been great. I am hopeful they will put one up in Northern Utah as I live up that direction so Sandy is a little far to drive but when I am out this direction I always come here. There is a real sweet girl that seems to always be there every time I go in working the counter she is always so pleasant with a smile on her face and always very helpful. She is always just in a great mood and seems to genuinely like her job I always think I need to get her name but I always forget. I hope they see what a great job she does!

Eaten here twice now and will be back. Both times I had the vegetarian potato with a side of soup. A family member said the French dip sandwich was great. Husband enjoyed the Italian sandwich. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well.

We have been to this location many times but tonight will be the end of our business to Mcalisters. For a little background, in the recent past we did a mobile order that was pretty delayed, but the end result was still fine and we eventually got our food.

Tonight we never got our food. We ordered through a 3rd party. And I’m already escalating the issues with that as well. But after over an hour of not having our food yet, we called the restaurant to see if they were experiencing high volume delays. There was a driver actively waiting for the food while we were on the phone with the restaurant but the claimed that the food was stolen and there was nothing they could do to help us. Knowing that it was stolen, knowing the delivery driver was present in the dining room, and knowing there was a very hungry 1 year old waiting for this food… the guy on the phone just kept repeating “there isn’t anything we can do” over and over again instead of letting us speak.

We hung up on him after the 5th “nothing we can do, it’s your fault for going third party”.

I’ve worked the restaurant industry for many many years. And I’ve remade a lot of online delivery service food for various reasons. So I don’t accept that there wasn’t anything he could do. He simply did not want to. And because of this, I’ll never return. Not in person, or online orders.

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me personally after seeing this review. They acknowledged the system error with the coupon and made it right. I really appreciate a local business owner who takes feedback seriously and looks after their customers. Changing my rating from 1 to 5 stars for the excellent follow-up service!

Extremely disappointing experience at this new location. I presented a coupon that was successfully scanned, recognized, and validated by their own POS app system, yet the staff and management refused to honor the discount. It is frustrating to have a system confirm a deal only to have the employees flat-out deny it.
I even attempted to resolve this through their corporate 1-800 line, but they were unable to provide any assistance or override the local store’s decision. As a new business in Sandy, you would expect better service and a commitment to honoring their own validated promotions. I won’t be returning until they fix their system and train their staff on basic customer service.

I came here 20 minutes ago and orders some sandwiches. I got the chicken salad in a croissants but unfortunately the bread was tough and I couldn’t eat it, feels like it’s old but the chicken salad itself was so delicious and tasty. It’s just the croissant. The cashier was so nice and friendly. Please check the bread!!!!

This place is awesome! Out east there were lots of McAlister’s, they haven’t had any in Utah until now! This place is a bit on the smaller side but it has a nice atmosphere.
The food is great, so is their tea!! Always delicious. All the staff have so far been really nice and helpful.
So glad there’s a McAlister’s here yipee
