I would like to say that i’ve loved coming to Mcalister’s ever since they opened. I have never had a problem with their service or food, however, tonight’s experience definitely changed my perspective a bit. it had been a few months since I have ate here so there were some employees that I have not seen before. This female employee was walking around the store yelling and even arguing with her fellow co workers before my interaction with her. I placed my order and I went to walk to a table to sit down and the female started shouting telling me I couldn’t sit in this specific section because she was going to mop. I seen there were other people sitting in the section so it threw me off guard so I turned and walked around the section so I could sit at a table out of her way. She then started shouting out that I ignored her and didn’t listen to her. She threw her mop down and proceeded to yell at the front of the store and to another worker that I along with other customers were in the way. I found this disrespectful and I was very disappointed in the rest of the staff allowing her behavior to continue. The environment here is usually friendly and very welcoming. That’s what I loved most about this place and I’m sad to see that the atmosphere died. As if that whole situation wasn’t ridiculous, when she brought our food she threw the plates on the table spilling my girlfriends soup all over her plate. To say this women’s behavior was disgusting would be an under statement. I hope a manager can address this with her to prevent it from happening with any other customers. The female was white, skinny with red hair and wore black square glasses I couldn’t catch her name due to her not wearing a name tag.

The food was way to over priced and the sandwich that my husband and I both ordered was disgusting. They were out of the correct bread for the sandwich and the meat wasn’t even cooked or sliced properly. As someone who works as a kitchen and line cook for another restaurant I was overall disappointed.

Twice I have been there and twice they have not failed to disappoint. I ordered a Southwest Chicken and Avocado Salad. Three tiny pieces of Avocado . I ask for more and got 4 more. After eating a few bites I notice a piece of chicken looked pink!!!! A $11.99 salad and I have to ask for Avocado and then find raw chicken!!!

The food is phenomenal. I’ve had so many sandwiches from there. Have different variety ain’t never had one that was bad every last one of them stupid fire…. And the broccoli cheddar soup is straight to die for… Honestly, ain’t none of it have no business being that good… Hands-down, amazing not to mention great employees. The service is amazing too…. Honestly, businesses around here could learn a thing or two from an establishment like this… It’s hard to find a place with good food and good service… My hats off to all the staff… Especially them cooks boy do they know how to cook…. Matter of fact, I’m going to get a sandwich right now with some broccoli cheddar soup… #Amazing

I don’t typically do this, but I’m aggravated. I’ve ate here a few times, and it seems like they get worse each time. This time, I ordered half a salad and half a blt + avocado. Well, there was no avocado at all on the sandwich and a very small amount in the salad which was suppose to come with it too. Hardly any chicken in the salad either. Was thrown together in the box. Just very let down. Was excited to try some of their different things, too. I just expected better from the newest resturant in town. Potato salad was great though, I’ll give them that.

The restaurant itself stays maintained well. The food selection is great. However,the last two times I’ve gotten salad the lettuce has been bad. This is my only complaint.
I have chosen to go with other options other than the salad due to its color and how soggy it is. We love the mac n cheese. The sweet tea is good too.

Twice we came here for lunch specifically for spuds and they didn’t have any spuds ready, both times I was told it would be 20-30 minutes wait. Also I ordered a chicken avacado salad and it had NO avacado on it. While sitting at the table I overheard the same girl who took my order tell a customer they are out of avacado however she failed to tell me that when I placed my order.

Honestly, food was good for the price. What was not okay was a hidden tooth pick that was inside of a sub that decided to puncture my gums.Wasn’t used to hold it together or meant for the sub. Called the shop to talk with a manager. After asking why there would be a tooth pick inside(no holes on the outside) I was told “A cook may have left it in there.”
I can’t even begin to explain how 1. it is bad for customers trying to enjoy a meal and 2. how bad the legal matters could become with either negligent cooking staff.
Update:
I got my money returned, But have lost complete faith in this establishment to adhere to basic food safety measures.

We ate there on Sunday, 7/28/2024. It was our third time since it opened. First time was a disaster. 2nd time was much improved. Third time disaster again. The presentation of the food was terrible. The service was terrible. There were 7 people eating there when we got there. 4 of them were about done eating. The other 3 had ordered and were waiting for their food. At one point one of those 3 went up to counter to check on their food due to wait time. We waited approximately 20 mins for our food. I’m not saying that is a terrible wait time but it is for an off time in afternoon and only 3 ahead of you. My wife ordered nachos and about 25-35% of chips were broken. Many ingredients left off which we did address. The tea glasses have gotten much smaller! I recommend self serve for tea and ice much like other locations. We love McCalisters so we will probably be back but this location needs a lot of attention. Where are the owners???? The store at Gravois Bluffs is so much better quality food and service and I wish it wasn’t the case!

Several very bad pieces of lettuce, paid for extra honey mustard which barely fills bottom of container. You would think they would check the salad ingredients every day for freshness. Or actually fill container if your going to charge me for it
