I’m not one to write reviews, even if I have negative experiences because I am very understanding but I’ve been here a few times and I’m very unsatisfied. It’s an extremely unprofessional environment, I just spend the amount of time in the drive thru than I would at a sit down restaurant. After our extremely long wait, the soup I ordered was cold, when I took it in to ask for a warm one they just threw mine in the microwave and when they gave it back to me it was steaming hot burning my fingers. This isn’t my first negative experience here which is upsetting because Mcalister’s is one of my favorites. Very upsetting for how expensive it already is. I will not be going here again.

35 dollars for a 6 inch French dip and a 12 inch French dip. The driest beef I’ve ever had on a French dip and the au jus tasted like hot water. Mac and cheese was pure trash mush, potato salad was the only redeeming quality of the whole meal for us and it wasnt even great. Don’t waste your money here, pure trash quality and over 15 minute wait with two cars in drive through. TRASH.

I used to love this place. However, this past month I’ve gone there 3 times, and I’ve had problems every time. Service was incredibly slow–or nonexistent– all 3 times at the driveup. The first time, I sat at the ordering kiosk so long, I finally left and went somewhere else. The second time, I ordered the New Yorker sandwich. It contained plenty of meat but it was all corn beef–with absolutely no pastrami. Taste of the potato salad and the sandwich was mediocre at best. On my finally try today, I ordered the turkey, bacon, ranch club sandwich. It had one slice of turkey, bacon so thin you can see through it and 4 inches of lettuce. Taste was okay. Never again.

First time eating at a McAllister. Food was great. I had the Italian, it was amazing. The little gal that waited on us was very sweet. I actually live in Missouri but will be moving to Illinois next spring. I will be back.

As you can see the receipt shows some problems with this restaurant.
We talked to the cashier during the order and she said that the orders were all good.
Once we got the receipt the price was different and the order seemed wrong. So we talked to the cashier and she said the price was changed at the first of the year. And we are there June 20th. Yet the menu board and the menu were both different.
And we also were told the fresh fruit was not part of the side of the lunch sandwich’s.
And you can the price on the menu AND the price of the receipt and on the board were different..
THREE prices
We were asked how the lunch was and we told “management” about the order and the price and the “management” said the same thing about the price change.
I also told the “manager” that we had been waiting for our lunch for 6 minutes on the order window.
It started at the 5 minute mark and my son(17yrs old) went to say something to the window “workers” but they were more concerned about the job hours and pay. And the only reason the food was delivered was because I went back to the front table and said something.
And all she was able to help with the problem was a desert.
This is an absolute joke of management and shadiness all around.
We are from St Louis and went the Carbondale for a sports event and though we were safe for a nice lunch and as we know now we won’t be going to ANY McAlister’s and will give the advice to friends to think about it before you do.. there are too many other places to go

Quality control. Service was friendly. Ordered harvest chicken salad croissant through drive-thru. The croissant was a bit burnt and crispy. Parts of this sandwich were inedible. Pics are top and bottom of croissant. We were the only ones in the drive-thru, and there were 3 cars in the lot.

This place had been a little rough in the past (like a year ago ish), but I think they must have changed management because I went again today and the food was phenomenal, everybody was super friendly, and the manager even came out and spoke to us asking how the food was and was such a sweetheart. It’s actually crazy how different it was coming in here today. A total transformation!!
Will definitely be back!! We appreciate our McAlisters workers (and new management) in this household great food and great people
