I had a hard time deciding which sandwich I wanted. I asked the girl waiting on us and without skipping a beat the girl says the italian. My wife ordered the sandwich I was having a hard time deciding between. I was soooo happy I went with the italian. The other sandwich was pretty good with a LOT of meat but the Italian was awesome. We’ve been getting sandwiches at my wife’s favorite sandwich shop for years and she begrudgingly admitted McAlisters is better. AND the only attitude we got was sweet and helpful.

Listen , for a chain kinda restaurant this is a new go to , fav. Forget Panera. Absolutely love the food , the options. When I’ve gone in for my pick orders the workers are also friendly. Like I said def worth a try. My favs have been the cubano, chicken club , the nachos are actually really good too. I look forward to trying more stuff.

Today was our first visit, and it won’t be our last. We’ve been put off a bit by hearing people say it’s too pricey. We thought for just sandwiches, we wouldn’t bother. But we decided to give it a shot and I’m glad we did. Their sandwiches are seriously good, with huge portions (as in two meals from one sandwich), and there are some other options if you don’t want a sandwich. We enjoyed the veggie spud (baked potato with veggies and cheese), and the black angus club. We chose the mac & cheese for the side with our sandwich. It makes sense that it costs a bit more because it’s quality food, more than enough to share, and we really enjoyed it. Since it was a beautiful day we sat outside at their tables to eat, which is always a bonus. The staff were all very friendly and they answered all of our “first timer” questions. For dessert we grabbed a lemon blueberry cookie (yummmy!) and salted caramel cookie. The lemon blueberry one was definitely the better of the two, the other one was fine though. We will be returning to try other sandwiches soon!

Stopped by McAlister’s Deli in Fredericksburg for a quick lunch and left completely satisfied! I ordered the veggie sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious — packed with fresh, crisp vegetables, flavorful spreads, and served on perfectly toasted bread. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients, and it hit the spot without feeling too heavy.

We really enjoyed our visit. The staff were very friendly and professional. Our orders came out within 5 or 10 minutes. We all ordered something different and everyone was impressed. The ingredients were top notch and the bread was awesome. We visited at around 1130 on a weekday. The restaurant was not very busy.

This place will knock out panera bread in about 8 years. If they keep the prices lower and exceed quality of sandwiches and big!! potatoes!!! It does not the staff to meet demand. They will make up for it !! No need to complain they fix it on spot!!!

Sandwiches were delicious and plentiful. Service was friendly and fast and the restaurant was very clean and well maintained. Easy to order and then the food is brought to your table by a personable and helpful server. Great place.

On a coworker recommendation….first time visit Saturday 7pm 5/10/25 73 degree weather in DC area…just a beautiful day. Created my own Turkey on sub with peppers . Informed young girl taking my order I’ve never been here before and do they have sweet, hot, or banana type peppers. She says they’re red and green..Flag#1. I asked if she could confirm with the sandwich maker… she had the look of frustration but did ask and he said they’re sweet peppers.
I then asked is the turkey thin sliced like sandwich or thick like you would carve off turkey. Could you believe she didn’t understand the question! Flag#2. I asked if someone more familiar with sandwich making/ordering could help. Another young girl took over providing a quick ordering experience and recommended herbal mayonnaise.
Got my order and the sandwich maker forgot my side cucumber salad caught by the order taker Flag#3…the peppers were not sweet or pickled just shredded red,green, yellow bell peppers I guess roasted. The sandwich had regular mayo barely and no herbal mayo. Went back in for side of herbal mayo ..the young lady ask the sandwich maker for it and he says we don’t have any!? The order taker asked ” why didn’t you tell me that so I could let the customer know when he ordered..Flag#4.
Summary: Sandwich was fresh however, due to the younger hired help and no adult supervision there’s a high risk of errors and lack of communication and tactfulness. I believe people patronize this place because of location and lack of other options. McDonald’s is across the street.

Super satisfying lunch overall, and it was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. Food came out quickly, order was perfect. The employees were friendly and the restaurant was clean. There was a great variety of options to choose from. The lemonade was good too, I usually don’t care for lemonade as it’s always too sweet or too tart…their’s had a good balance.
I liked it so much I bought my friend a gift card before I left. Looking forward to the next vist.
