I love seafood, but I’m not a fan of Cajun or Creole flavors, which made it a bit challenging to find something on this menu without that influence. I was hoping for a simple mahi mahi dish with no Cajun flavors, but unfortunately there wasn’t an option.

I usually order the salmon salad here and enjoy it, but this time I wanted to try something different and went with the fish tacos. While they were tasty, they are not fish tacos. They were more like a burrito—very stuffed, but with so many veggies that the fish flavor was almost completely lost. It felt more like eating a giant veggie roll than a seafood dish.

We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, but there definitely wasn’t enough dipping sauce for the portion size.

On the positive side, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, efficient, and attentive. The restaurant was clean, though it felt a bit stuffy inside.

I’ll likely return to McAdoo’s, but I’ll stick with the salmon next time. Also, be prepared to walk—parking downtown in New Braunfels is pretty rough and seems to be getting worse.

My first visit was impressive. Mahi Mahi Boudreaux was on point. The crawfish cream sauce was very tasty. I was not pleased with spices in dirty rice. The boldness did not pair well with sauce. Lobster bisque nicely done with a mildly spicy kick. The ‘Post Master’ (Hurricane) was a bit tart to my liking. Beautiful decor with a history stretching back to 1915 when the building was the New Braunfels post office. McAdoo’s could be a monthly repeat soon. Stuffed flounder on my mind.

Moved here almost a year ago and before that happened I came to visit New Braunfels. During that first visit my fiancée took me to McAdoos. I loved it so much! The food is amazing, atmosphere, staff, and management seems on point. Came in for my birthday most recently and their pumpkin cheese cakes is a must during October.
We’ve frequently visited since living in New Braunfels and after trying so many dishes (which are all SO GOOD) my favorites and must tries are Sea Bass, Shrimp and Scalloped Baton Rouge, Seafood fondue, fresh oysters (We go with anything PEI), Cobb and Wedge salad (great portion) and the lavender blueberry cheesecake and chocolate chip bread pudding to finish.
Definitely looking forward to the next visit. I haven’t been there to eat in a Sunday Brunch but their bloody bar looks delicious.

Wonderful restaurant, wonderful seafood, excellent and wonderful service. Our server, Juliana, was amazing and wonderful. Seafood fondue was really good, catfish and shrimp were also really good. Desserts were wonderful as well. Our table got the key lime pie and the chocolate chip bread pudding. Was delicious and highly recommend.

Amazing night with our company at McAdoos. We enjoyed our private room and Cooper, our waiter, was fantastic. The food was perfect and everybody raved at the quality from Ribeye to Red Snapper it was all delicious.

We will absolutely be coming back to do this again. Thanks to all the Mcadoos staff and to event coordinator Kelsie for setting it up.

This place is a must-go if you are in New Braunfels! The oysters and clam chowder were delicious, and our waiter, Cooper, was super knowledgeable and attentive. The presentation on all our dishes was lovely. Would absolutely go again.

Upon entering, we were advised of 45-60 minute wait for a table, or that immediate patio seating was available. We were seated immediately. The weather wasn’t bad as they have multiple large blowers and fans placed all around the seating area. The atmosphere was friendly and laid-back, definitely family and/or Friends Night Out environment. We enjoyed Tapestry Red Wine Blend, 2 doz Oysters Rockefeller (consistent and nicely flavored), Crab Cakes (flavorful, drizzled lemon butter adds just right amount of balance), and Coconut Shrimp (deliciously breaded and seasoned). However, we were not happy with the Cajun Shrimp as the flavor would’ve been more pleasing if the pasta were not cool. It did not arrive hot, but very much cooled down. Also, our bowl AND cup of Clam Chowder arrived cold and burnt. Cold. And burnt! With customer-centricity in mind, these concerns were quickly acknowledged and corrected by our server, James, and Bar Manager, Eddie. Thank you, McAdoo’s!

McAdoo’s Seafood Company is one of my favorite spots in NB. The food is always delicious and the seafood is so fresh, especially the oysters which are some of the best I’ve had. The menu has a great variety and everything I’ve tried has been full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The building itself is stunning inside and out. It has so much character and charm, and the interior feels upscale but still comfortable and welcoming. The only downside is that it’s usually very busy and you often have to wait for a table even if you have a reservation. That said, the food and atmosphere are totally worth it. Just be prepared to wait a little and enjoy a drink while you do. Definitely a must visit if you’re in the area!

The atmosphere was nice being that it was converted from an old post office. Very nice.

I always have a great time at McAdoo’s! I don’t like seafood, so I get the parmesan crusted chicken and it is absolutely delicious and comes with pasta and broccoli, 10/10. They also make amazing espresso martinis! The outdoor patio is beautiful!
