MC Restaurant: Experience Exquisite Sushi and Asian Fusion …
Reviews
We visited MC Restaurant in Cary to celebrate my 40th birthday with my husband. The food was delicious, and the outdoor seating area was lovely. We were hoping for a special evening without our teenagers.
Unfortunately, just after paying, we spotted a cockroach near our table, which was incredibly disappointing and disturbing for a high-end restaurant. I had also mentioned during our reservation that it was a birthday celebration, but the server was unaware until I told her, which felt like a missed opportunity to make our night more special.
I shared a video with the restaurant’s Instagram but have not yet received a response. I’ve sent this feedback to the restaurant via Instagram and am awaiting their response.
Because of this experience, we will not be returning.
I hope the restaurant addresses these issues to prevent future guests from facing the same problems.
Thank you
I ordered the Sashimi Platter ($40), the Red Curry Halibut meals and added the Surf and Turf, Tuna Taco makis and 1 order id the Hamachi sushi.
Everything was great until we decided that we were still hungry by ordering a second Sashimi Platter. The 2nd order PALED in comparison to our first order in terms of both the (1) quality of cuts and in particular, the (2) size portions. That 2nd platter seemed like the sushi chef went home and left a poor server to with no experience to prepare that plate. SEE PHOTOS COMPARING THE HUGE DIFFERENCE IN PORTION SIZES).
That was a huge disappointment. I informed inattentive server and she gave me some excuse that it was me who wrongly perceived that the portions were tiny. That response was disappointing to hear.
The atmosphere is great. The service was subpar for a restaurant with those menu prices. We had to repeatedly ask another more attentive server for help.
While the food was absolutely delicious (other items like the Red Curry Halibut were fantastic), they can do better in terms of portion cuts and consistency with their $40 Sashimi platter and service on busy nights like Friday.
Whatever you choose to order here, I highly recommend the Hanoi Lambchop—it’s the best option. It’s worth the price, delicious, and comes with four generously sized lamb chops. I made a bit of a mistake by not ordering it this time, but that just gives me a reason to come back and enjoy it for sure 🙂
We didn’t have reservations, but when calling to see if they could squeeze us in, the manager James had answered. He was able to get us a nice table and seated quickly.
The place is inside of a historic home. The menu selection is incredible. Ranging from
sushi to noodle dishes to fish and the best Lamb you will ever have.
We started it off with some delicious oysters. And then split a Shrimp Pad Thai dish and the Lamb Shank.
Both were amazing but the Lamb Shank is so good. It is seriously the best Lamb dish I’ve ever had.
The service was top notch, great people, amazing food.
We would go back for sure.
