Wow, finally visited LA and high on my list was to enjoy a meal at Mazal, so we did. It was just as I’d hoped-DELICIOUS!! The place was packed inside & out last Saturday evening. We were 8 persons so we ordered almost everything to share. We started with several bottles of the Pasini San Giovanni Il Lugana Da Uve Turbiana wine, tasty cracked olives, very warm pita bread and about 6 fantastic spreads: spicy tahini, black sesame tahini, 3 kinds of hummus, and babaganoush. Served next were the marinated beets, Moroccan carrots, cheese and potato bourekas, and delicious cheesy, herb flat bread with grapes! Then the main dishes appeared; chamin, roasted cauliflower, charred broccoli, roasted potatoes and vegetable couscous. An incredible night that I’ll never forget. The cozy atmosphere, the attractive Mediterranean décor, the friendly service and the absolutely scrumptious food!

We were late, coming in for a beer so I can’t rate the food. I imagine for vegetarian it would be exceptional. The owner sat us down. The back patio is VERY elegant. A very fine use of the space. I would return for dinnernin the future and do recommend checking the place out.

We loved our visit! The food is so, so tasty and super authentic, and reasonably priced. The Jerusalem Toast was particular intriguing and delicious. Service was good too.

Our friends brought us to Mazal last night after telling us about it since they stumbled upon it. This is a hidden gem! If you are looking for something out of the ordinary with a very cool vibe, Mazal is the place! Everything we ordered was amazing. The Cilantro Turmeric Cauliflower and Charred Broccoli were phenomenal an their pita melts in your mouth. If you love sauces, each is better than the next. My only regret was that I couldn’t eat more. We can’t wait to go back!!

Randomly stumbled across this place and I’m so glad I did. This is classic Israeli fare that’s simple but executed very well. There were many vegan options for my friend so that’s a plus too!

The pita and hummus alone are worth the drive. As far as veggie restaurants go, this place is among the best in LA hands down. Other faves were charred broccoli, oyster mushrooms, and roasted cauliflower. Super cool hole in the wall location. Parking was pretty easy.

I really wanted to love this place but my hungry crew had so much leftovers. The emo tahini was imbalanced and had very strong vinegar flavor. I think a bit of citrus or pomegranate would have given it more depth. The hummus and lebna were good, but I wish the lebna had a bit more mint so it wouldn’t be flat. The carrots were my favorite and I could eat that all day. The main entrees were super duper dry, hard to share and overpriced. The pita bread was yummy and warm, but charging $8 for two pieces is wild to me, especially for how necessary it is for dips. Who wants to eat hummus with a spoon?

Chef Honey was gracious enough to come check on me and my friend to make sure we were having a great time and honestly her kindest made me fall in love with this place even more. I will definitely be back. It’s a 10/10 for me!!
