Came for the brunch, stayed for the vibes. Great place to aura farm and get the day started. Ate the chilaquiles, Wished they were a bit spicier and more meat. I’ll definitely be asking for the triple meat portion next time. Café de Hoya is a nice place, but I find it a bit too sweet, including the horchata. The owner is a very friendly and accommodating guy. Don’t come here just for the food; come for the experience.

I was pleasantly and uniquely surprised by what this place has to offer. From the outside, the entrance seems understated, almost unassuming, but once you walk through the alley, it opens up into a full-fledged restaurant and bar with a captivating vibe.

The owner’s concept and design are truly mesmerizing, giving the space an oasis-like feel right in the middle of the city. It’s stylish, inviting, and unlike anything you’d expect from the exterior. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, all thoughtfully prepared, and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the visit feel effortless.

Parking can be a bit tricky, but the experience is more than worth the small hassle. Between the creative ambiance, delicious food, and welcoming staff, this is a spot I’ll definitely be returning to again and again.

Delicious food. Carne asada was tender and seasoned well. Big portion. Had enough to take home. Comes with corn tortillas not pictured. Pineapple mango drink was refreshing and not too sweet! Service was great. They brought our table samples of the drinks so we could decide what to order.

One of the few if not last $1 taco tuesday restaurants in the bay (with purchase of any drink, $5 horchata is the minimum)

Also comes with complimentary chips and salsa

Parking may be hard cuz street parking only but not impossible!

Good hawaiian tshirt vibe restaurants and cool waiters

Got one of each taco:

Chicken was okay (7/10)
Pork was solid (8/10)
Beef was pretty good (9/10)

They have a variety of hot sauces which I also recommend to try theyre all pretty good

Would come again!

I love this place. The food, service, atmosphere. Everything! We ordered the carne asada papona, and the camarones rancheros. The baked potato was on point, buttery and savory and the meat tender. The shrimp were fantastic! Super fresh and flavorful. The kids had chicken tenders and even those were great! We ended our meal with the Maracuya (passion fruit) cheesecake. The sauce is a bit sweet but if you just take a bite with a bit of the sauce it’s perfect! The agua de Jamaica is perfect for Jamaica lovers. Definitely coming back to this place when I’m in the area. If you get Cynthia as your server you will be well taken care of! She is attentive, friendly and super awesome!

This place is phenomenal! The neighborhood is lively but shabby; we really weren’t sure what we were getting into. But it felt like walking into a hidden oasis. Even the smell altered, transforming from urban street smells to a clean, welcoming paradise. The food was both delicious and beautiful. Every moment of the meal was perfect. It is outside, but the space was filled with space heaters and we were very comfortable despite the November chill. I cannot recommend enough!

Very nice place good salsa and empanadas. Empanadas have seafood and creamy in the outside the breading is fried crispy and a bit thick.

Seafood tasted fresh and the patio is nice to in.
There’s no indoor seating but the patio is covered and they have heaters. The bar has TVs if you’d like to watch sports.

We came in for Father’s Day. Let’s me just say we waited at least two hours which is understandable for such a busy day. We started with the Chicharrones and guacamole which was amazing, and the main course were also very tasty. Overall the service and food were amazing.

Came for lunch with a group. Was pleasantly in uniquely surprised for what this place has in store. When you approach the entrance it seems lackluster until you walk through the alley and it opens up into a full-on restaurant and bar. The owner’s concept and design is a bit mesmerizing and makes it feel like an oasis in an urban setting. Plenty of items to pick from on the menu, it was taco Tuesday so I had to get one taco of each meat and wash it down with an agua fresca. This is a restaurant you do not want to miss out on in San Jose, great meat, great service, amicable staff. Parking can be a little rough to find but definitely worth it.
