We need more Venezuelan cuisine in St. Louis but make them all Mayo Ketchup We had the sampler and it was incredible. The pork arepa was deliciously juicy! Couldn’t have had a better experience if we tried! Great customer service and very kind owners. Thank you!

Mayo & Ketchup completely blew me away. The flavor in every dish was bold, fresh, and honestly way better than I expected when I first walked in. What really stood out were the vegetarian and vegan options — not just “add-ons,” but real dishes with intention and great taste. It’s the kind of spot where you can bring anybody and they’ll find something fire to eat. The restaurant itself is extremely clean, well-kept, and has a welcoming vibe that makes you want to come back. Overall, Mayo & Ketchup delivered big time on flavor, quality, and options for everyone.

This was my first time here. I thought the restaurant had a great feel about. Festive and colorful. I came for lunch so it wasn’t overly busy. The service was excellent. All of the food was prepared just right. We had the Queso Frito for an appetizer. Absolutely delicious especially with the Mayoketchup sauce. I had the Steak & Cheese sandwich for a main course. It had lots of meat and cheese. All cooked just right. Didn’t get to try any desserts, but the options looked awesome. This is a great lunch spot if you are in the area.

My daughters and my granddaughter had a great experience at Mayo Ketchup by Plaintain Girl. The food and service were amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful. The owner was in the restaurant, stopped by to say hello, and offered my granddaughter toys from their toy box. Additionally, this was our last dinner experience before my youngest returned to college after her Winter break. This made our experience extra special having the owner stop by to say hello and ask us about our experience.

Having been to San Juan, Puerto and having plenty of opportunities to enjoy the wonderful cuisine I can tell you that the Mayo Ketchup restaurant is truly authentic. The margaritas were nice and strong. The friend sweet plantains were delicious. Serving size was plentiful.

I came in for takeout before closing last night. The owner of the restaurant personally recommended dishes based on my taste and I got the pork bowl. The chef delivered some of the freshest best rice I’ve had in a long time. Meat was cooked perfectly. If I had to critique the cooking, the pork was very salt-forward and a sauce drizzled all over or mixed with the meat would go a long way in cutting the salt flavor. The lovely owner included two sauces that were both delicious and I ended up dipping my pork in both. The cilantro and lime wedge were also much needed, and one sprig on top was maybe not the best delivery of this flavor into the dish. Cilantro and lime in every bite would take this to the next level and some pickled vegetables or fresh greens could be a wonderful balance to the heavy pork and savory rice. A spicy option could be delicious as well.
The interior is wonderfully decorated apart from the random marvel collectables in the front entry way. I would prefer a cultural puerto rican art piece rather than this American slop-toy tchotchke arrangement.
If this restaurant takes itself seriously and keeps delivering this level of quality at such an attractive price point, it could be a St Louis staple. I would come back weekly if I didn’t live in LA. Thanks again for the wonderful service.

If you’re looking for some of the best Latin American food in St. Louis, Mayo Ketchup is a must-visit. They serve incredible dishes inspired by Venezuela, Cuba, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic, and everything I’ve tried has been amazing.
The Cuban sandwich, empanadas, queso frito, and arepas are absolutely to die for. The flavors are authentic and it’s easily some of the most unique and delicious food you’ll find anywhere in St. Louis.
Brad was super friendly and welcoming, and Mandy’s cooking was top notch. The service and atmosphere made the experience even better.
Another huge plus is that there are tons of gluten-free options, which can be hard to find at many St. Louis restaurants.
If you’re searching for great Latin food in St. Louis, gluten-free options in St. Louis, or one of the best Cuban sandwiches in St. Louis, Mayo Ketchup should be at the top of your list.

I went there today for lunch place was virtually empty. The staff is super friendly and really gave us a great tour of the menu. We settled on Pollo Guisado and empanadas. The food arrived within minutes hot and looking great. The tostones that come on the side are among the best I have ever had, they were fantastic, just a little bite to them a hint of salt. I wanted 50. The empanada WAS the best I have ever had. I also wanted 50. But the only let down was the Pollo Guisado, Don’t go into this looking for spicy because you wont get it, it was a bit bland. the chicken was tender, it smelled great but it lacked a little heat. Overall, try this place, the staff is so wonderful…the vibe is good. The price was right. I’m going to go back and try again. 3 stars.

I had high hopes for this place. I love around a lot and usually first thing I do is find where the pizza is and the Hispanic food is. Coming from Chicago I was happy to know there was a Puerto Rican spot. Today I went and was a bit disappointed. I had the arroz con Gandules with Pollo guisado. I had a side of red beans, sadly the beans were the only thing that had flavor, in my honest opinion. The rice was bland and the Chicken had very little flavor. I mean no disrespect by this review. I am hoping the Chef was having a down time Today. I will go again and give it a second chance, only because the service was amazing. Dude at the bar was super cool. So, I will try it again.
