I believe our waitress was a young lady name Kayla. She was very attentive and on point. She came to the table multiple times, and worked the entire time I was there. The reason the restaurant is getting 3/5 stars is because when we arrived we waited at the front door for about 4-6 mins and an employee was feet away and didn’t say anything. There was no host. The whole time we saw a group of young adults standing in the back talking. After the employee saw me and my husband was about to leave she decided to walk us over to a table. The food was great. A manager came from the back and asked about the food. When it was time to leave, again we had to wait on a long line to pay. As we were waiting to leave, the line to enter increase from the podium to the door. Those people were growing restless waiting, just like we did waiting to enter.

My sister and I did not like the fish.
I had the jumbo shrimp &baby shrimp
My sister got the jumbo shrimp, chicken tenders and baby shrimp.
We both sent back the white fish and flounder.
And my friend had chicken tenders & baby shrimp.
The restaurant was not busy and the waitresses were nice and helpful.

Really disappointed with this location as compared to Raleigh and Wilson. First off, service was awesome and waitress was phenomenal. Tables were sticky. Food was hot but it was very apparent that old food had been mixed with fresh. Ordered a large fried shrimp plate with fries and slaw. About three-fourths of the shrimp were dark brown, old and hard to stab with a fork while the remaining was golden brown, tender and fresh. Clearly they put ‘old’ or previously cooked food in with the fresh then put them back in the grease to get them hot again. Also found a couple oysters in my food which I’m not fond of. Have been eating at the other locations for over 20 years, but first (and last) at this one.

This was my first and absolute last time at this place! I get better food at Captain D’s then this. Can someone explain why this was $17.69? I literally had to throw this away because it was inedible. It was hard enough to break a window and as you see, for the lack of oyster’s given, they were nothing but breading. Seriously overcooked!

The portion size was great. The prices are reasonable, and the food was tasty except the stuffed crab (too much breading and very little crab). I enjoyed the Mayflower Fried Seafood Platter. I really enjoyed the sizzling hot fried okra!!

Seafood at its best, came here last week and came back this evening for the same dish I got last time: the “Mayflower Broil”. Exquisite dish from every aspect. The lady that took care of me sure was very kind and attentive to detail. The Mayflower restaurant is a must place to stop by and eat if you are in the area.
