Listen! The last time my husband & I ate here the food & service was 5 star. Yes it’s Mayflower, it’s a small hometown restaurant, but make no mistake about it the food & service was just as good as any restaurant you would consider top notch.
You have to go read my previous review to see the name of our waiter from the previous time we were here who was super.
Today we had Crystal and boy did Crystal NOT disappoint! She was super duper!!! As soon as we walked in she greeted us with a smile. She seated us, took great care of us. She was on it!
When she walked away to put in our order, my husband said “she’s a people person”. Honestly, I could go on and on about Crystal, but I will stop here. Ask for her the next time you eat at Mayflower.
Now the food! Today my husband and I both ordered from the lunch special. He had popcorn, shrimp and tilapia, I had baby flounder. For whatever reason, I had the bright idea to ask for Cajun seasoning on my flounder.
My husband realized it was a good idea so he asked for Cajun seasoning on his tilapia. IT WAS SO GOOD.
His popcorn shrimp was delicious too.
I know I’ve written a lot, but I said all that because many times in the past, I’ve gone to Mayflower and have found myself saying it’s just not as good as it used to be.
Today I want to let you know if you found yourself saying the same thing give it another try.
Go have lunch and enjoy yourself.
Oh! By the way, don’t forget to ask for Cajun.

It had been awhile since my last visit to Mayflower and at that time, my experience wasn’t the best. That was years ago. However, I decided to give them another go and they definitely redeemed themselves!!! I ordered on a Friday and as I walked in, they were just finishing my food. It was hot and fresh!! And they give you soooo much food for the price!! Everything was amazing!! I’ll definitely start ordering on the regular now. 10/10!

Quick visit home from DC. Food was just like I remembered…piping hot and seasoned to perfection. It was completely empty. Had an amazing server. This is a legendary Winston staple. Ya’ll better support before it ends up like K&W.

Fantastic seafood restaurant! Yesterday was my first time not dining inside, but getting takeout. I didn’t know about the take out room having Peter’s Creek Pkwy. Quite convenient. I picked up the hot food and it was still hot when I got home with it 17 minutes later. And hats off for using entree boxes instead of Styrofoam trays that can melt and wilt because of the heat.

The food wasn’t “bad”, just not freshly cooked, even the shrimp. You could taste the flour in the breading. Everything tasted like frozen-to-the-fryer. For the prices, you’re MUCH better off with the RedL place.

We went on Easter Sunday got seated almost instantly , our waitress really wasn’t attentive about the drinks . My husband and I both got the baby flounder and shrimp with a loaded baked potato and he also got a side of Mac and cheese ( was NOT good and do not recommend , he took one bite ) the hush puppies were my favorite , super fresh and crispy . The only bad thing that took me by surprised was that they don’t have fresh lemons , only lemon juice which is not the same .
