Mayer’s has hands down the best burger in Cape May County! Absolutely phenomenal and so delicious. I only wish they were open year-round so I could eat one all the time! The drinks are amazing, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Even if you’ve only been in once, they remember you and greet you with open arms. The owner is so sweet, Kristin, Molly, and Mel are outstanding and make every visit feel so special. Such a special place.

We had a great first experience here a few weeks back. Excellent shore vibes, friendly hospitality, fast service, amazing food. Especially loved the calamari (perfect texture, great add-ins) and scallops (so sweet lightly fried but not greasy), plus the delicious carrots that were on special. Drinks were on point as well. Chocolate mousse was the cherry on top for dessert! Can’t wait to return again later this summer

Very nice place to stop. Casual but classy. Easy to get a seat. Specials available. Indoor and outdoor seating for 1,2 or groups. Bartenders are attentive. We would go back. Walking distance from South Journey Marina.

Update on 8/2/25:
They took the clam appetizer off, but added this crispy chicken app. Though i was very frustrated about the clam appetizer getting pulled 🙁 , the crispy chicken app blew me away. This chef and crew create tastes that you would have never thought existed. The bread pudding is the best you will ever have.

The best meal I’ve had in Cape May in 10+ years First sign of a top tier experience is the service of COLD water. Everything we ordered was exceptional. Service was great. The brioche bread pudding was the best dessert I’ve had in Cape May, until I tried the peach crumble special. Both memory making desserts to cap off a 10/10 meal. Not pictured: fried scallops, PEI mussels, fried calamari all fire.

One of my favorite things about this place is the small simple menu! I have to favorite hear and an honorable mention. Number 1, the delicious fried scallops! They’re a must try. Number 2, the Burger is absolutely perfected, easily in my top 3 burgers. Third is the smoked fish dip for an appetizer(ask for some crackers on the side).

Hostess was very pleasant and accommodating. In fact, she saw it taking the waiter a while to attend to me and she took and got my drink order. Waiter was basically ‘what’s your order, here’s your food’. $33 for a burger, shoestring fries and a 12 oz beer. Food was good. Nice, upscale pub. But a bit pricey for the overall experience.

This was one of the best dinners we have ever had.
FIVE STAR everything at a very good price.
The oysters, the bluefish, the squid, the tile fish….Everything was fresh and prepared and presented perfectly.
And the wait staff even better.
Will be going back again for certain.

We had to visit our namesake while we were in Cape May this last time… Dinner was good, they have a smaller menu which is fine because where they shine is their drink menu. Every single thing we ordered was wonderful. From the calamari to the crab fritters. And the Cold front cocktail was a favorite of everyone!

Great bar/restaurant usually! Except my last meal was so much money. Also they served a calamari dish that was like three overcooked rings and they cut up like 10 raw whole jalapeños and served it?! What the heck is that dish?! One of the craziest things I’ve ever been served in my life. Totally inedible.
