Small Mexican spot in downtown Davis close to campus featuring the staples of burritos, tacos, etc.

You order at the counter but they bring the food out.

Their breakfast burrito was insanely good. Chorizos, egg, ham, potatoes, all chopped up and topped with spicy creamy sauce.
Made it so every bite was tasty and uniform.

Also tried the Horchata and Agua de Jamaica which were also good

Definitely my new go to for breakfast burritos since 3rd&U closed

Update: have been back several times and tried new items each time. Always delicious and really love the food presentation. Staff is always so nice and helpful!

First time visiting. Atmosphere was nice. Can’t miss the place as they painted the exterior a very bright pink. I give them an A+ for plate presentation. They have different types of plates rather than standard white plates. They arrange the food beautifully. To me plate arrangement is important. Food quality was amazing. I had a chile relleno burrito and it was like none I had experienced before. They have a chips and salsa bar and amazingly I loved all of the salsas. I love that it is a family owned restaurant and conveniently located in downtown davis. Walking distance to farmers market and local coffee shops. I highly recommend Maya’s. Give it a try when look for authentic Mexican food with flair!

First time coming here. It’s a nice little corner in Davis. Enjoyable atmosphere. Big menu. Great service. I came with my friend. We were not very hungry, but we decided to try it since we haven’t been here before. We got a plate of Nachos and a couple of Sopes. Though all plates looked appetizing, they didn’t have any seasoning… not even salt on the beans. Everything tasted flat. So we had to use the table spice bottles. There was also free chips and salsa bar, which had everything on the nachos plate . I probably would come back and try a real dish.

A little low key place. Great inside seating as well as plenty outside. Alejandra took my order. I just let her pick and played roulette. Had a chicken taco & enchilada roja with Molé sauce. Absolutely delicious food! Has a great little salsa bar and chips to go along for your appetizer. Definitely visit here if you like amazing food!

Fun spot with an overwhelmingly large menu. We will be back to try some other items. Taco Maya was interesting, but the asada meat wasn’t all that flavorful ( but very tender). Huge taco, too big to pick up so I used a knife and fork. The cactus was tasty. I’ll probably try something else next time. Quesabirria taco had great flavor, was a bit greasy. The cup of consume that came with it was really good too ( not too salty). The crispy taco with Al Pastor was the tastiest, but a bit drippy. All in all, we enjoyed it very much and will be back to try some of the other dishes. Service was very friendly. Seating is a bit limited but we had no problem getting a seat for dinner. Counter service. Music was playing but they also had a big tv going so it was a bit noisy and jumbled. This spot is a really nice break from the more “standard” Mexican food spots in town.

You can’t miss Maya’s if you are in downtown Davis. The bright pink building stands out so much that it will draw you in and is pretty unforgettable.
The food there were delicious!
We ordered the chimichanga & the birria egg roll. It was our first time trying the birria egg roll and it was super crunchy, juicy, & tender.
The chimichanga was a nice surprise with the avocado on top. Although I asked to switch out the beans for more rice, they still had beans in them but it was still good.

One thing tho, when you are in the bathroom you better watch out for your hands or kids hands! You might burn your hand with the scalding hot water. This is the first time that ever happened to us that the hot water in the bathroom would burn your hand. We have already told the staff about it. Hopefully they will fix that problem soon!

This place was underwhelming. For being an “authenic” spot, the pico de gallo and street tacos were not that good. It seemed like thay just sauteed the steak and threw it on a tortilla. Their fajitas were also pretty pricey and lackluster. The posole was good, but the portions were minimal especially for the price.

The person who took our order seemed uninterested. Music was cool and it was nicely decorated. However, that didn’t make the food any better.

If you’re going to spend seventy dollars on mexican food, you’re better off going to Doggeros in woodland where the people are chill and the food is actually good.

Maya’s was fantastic. New spot that should not be slept on. We tried the burrito, maya taco, street taco, churros, flan, and the brilla egg rolls. Favorite was the Maya taco but everything was good. Customer service was the best. The gentlemen in the front of house on 7/22 were friendly, patient, and helpful. We will be back!

Maya’s was great. The food was really good, it was very pleasant for a sit down meal, and the salsa bar was a great touch. My only criticism is the California Burrito did not come with a side of rice and beans and it was $8 to add a paltry portion of each (see photo). The burrito itself was reasonably priced, but I would’ve liked more rice and beans for that cost.
