Food was disappointing. We ordered the chicken fried rice and seafood noodle soup (Korean style). Portions were big for a cheap price and the food came out quickly. Taste was not there.
Service was alright. The restaurant had a big selection but I felt awkward when ordering because she just stares at you.
Atmosphere: 3/5. Bigger and cleaner than I expected. Quiet place.
I would give this place another chance for take out only.

Usually love this place, went on a friday night when it was busy so I understood a wait time. But I was ignored for 40 minutes while waiting for my pick up order. I watched multiple people come in after me and be served before me when I ordered ahead for takeout. Very disappointing. Ended up leaving without getting my food.

May House has fantastic Asian food at a cheap price and VERY generous portions. They take **CASH ONLY**. They only offer take-out for the time being but the venue itself is very nicely decorated and clean.
The menu is extensive, and could be quite overwhelming – so I recommend having an idea of what you want before you head in to order. The bulk of their dishes cost no more than $10.
I recommend the Roast Egg ($3) as an appetizer, and the Korean Spicy Noodle Soup ($10).
If you are looking to get some cheap, fantastic and authentic Asian food on the go – I highly recommend May House!

I love their food! Yu Xang Pork & sesame Chicken. Cannot go wrong. This place hasn’t changed in 20 years. So good!! I would have added pictures, but as soon as we got the food home, it smelled so good, it disappeared before I could get a pic. Not even a speck of rice left behind.

Food is excellent. A few years ago, we abandoned this place because the food taste was becoming worse. I think now there is a new ownership and food taste has become much better. Service is good too. But the floors and ceiling are outdated and filthy.

The customer service was horrible, the cashier was rude with an attitude. The veggie rolls were cold in the inside, that’s how I knew the veggie rolls were store bought and not freshly made. They did heat the veggie rolls once I told them they were cold. I also ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, which was very good. The atmosphere was hot and gnats and flies were flying everywhere.

The food was delicious and seemed very authentic. It is not a fancy dining experience. You order off a board at the counter. The prices were reasonable and the staff helped us pick out something. We will definitely return. This is probably the best Chinese food in Ames.

May House has been my go to Chinese restaurant for the past couple months. They have a variety of Chinese food that taste great and offer competitive prices for college students. Would highly recommend their Mustard Pork.

One of the best Chinese places in town as far as I’m concerned. Bring cash. They don’t accept card.
