The food was wonderful… The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because the rice was a tad greasy.
Everything else was spot-on.
The owner (May) was there to greet us as we walked in and gave us plenty of extra house made duck sauce which btw is outstanding.
I will definitely be returning.

My husband and I went to May Garden for the first time today after a friend had recommended it and after reading some good reviews on here. I am going to start with the positives. Our server was wonderful. She was friendly, energetic, and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and had an overall good vibe to it. We had very high hopes for the food and unfortunately this is where the positives end. We ordered chicken egg foo yong, pork fried rice, and beef with pea pods and mushrooms. The egg foo yong, and the gravy it came with had NO flavor whatsoever. We tried soy sauce, salt (I’ve never in my life had to salt Chinese food) and even hot mustard to bring it to life but it was beyond hope. The beef, pea pod and mushroom dish was horrible. Again, flavorless and the sauce gave the beef a slimy texture that I could not get past. I will say, we did like the mushrooms though. Last, the rice. Oh, the rice…Is rice supposed to be crunchy? Well, it was and again, lacked any kind of flavor and no amount of seasoning could make it palatable. I honestly hate leaving bad reviews, but I also hate wasting money on something we really looked forward to. I won’t tell you not to go here like a lot of people do, because we all have different taste buds. But, just be prepared for a sad experience if you do choose to go.

My go to for chinese, very unpretensious and a little pricey but the best.

I feel bad only giving them 3 stars but that’s how I feel. The high points are that the food is usually good, though occasionally the chicken fingers would be dry. I like that their food isn’t overly greasy like many places and their service sizes are generous. The employees are very friendly and helpful.
Now for why only 3 stars. We have been ordering from here for several years, usually at least twice a month- when we can. Of the many times we’ve ordered around 25% of the time the chicken fingers are very dry- like a mummy. Just shriveled, wrinkly hard chunks. I would think their cook would notice and toss those out rather than serve food that isn’t edible.
The other reason for only 3 stars is that it seems they are always closed. Every other area I’ve lived, Chinese restaurants seem to always be open- Christmas day. New Year’s Eve. Thanksgiving, and more. Unfortunately not here. Besides many other times that they are closed, what shocks me is that they close early on New Year’s Eve, probably the biggest night of the year to order take-out. And what they do offer before closing is a very limited menu that you have to order in advance.
They also seem to close for various other reasons very often. Several times every year I try to get take-out I find that they are closed for a week or two at a time for various reasons, such as vacation. The entire business takes vacation at the same time? There are no other employees to work when someone takes a week off? I’ve never seen another restaurant that is closed as often as May Garden. Unfortunately for them, but fortunately for us, when they were closed earlier this year I checked around and found another Chinese restaurant that is very good, though a little more expensive. I’d rather pay a little more for good food at a place that is open when I have a craving for take-out.

Hubby and I tried this place for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. Not busy. We dined in. Ordered a pupu platter, chicken egg foo yung, crab rangoons, and beef fried rice. I don’t eat pork. Hubby said the egg rolls were very good and better than another restaurant’s as well as the boneless spare ribs. They put chicken teriyaki in the pupu platter instead of beef. I prefer beef, but the chicken was good. The crab rangoons were very good. We liked the fried rice and egg foo yung as well. The brown sauce for the egg foo yung was ok. I prefer another restaurant’s brown sauce, but I will definitely be back as all of the food was good, the service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean.

Had a great time at may garden. I thought that I would of only got 5 crab Rangoon but I didn’t. They exceeded my expectations. They were so yummy. Can’t wait to go back there again.

**To the people who have given this restaurant a bad review, I feel bad for you. I have tried other Chinese-American foods in this area, and want to say that this is the best in the area, in my opinion, by far. Noticeable differences in the quality and freshness of the food. Every time I have dined here I have always been extremely satisfied with the presentation, taste, price- five stars all around. I will be leaving the area shortly and had to write a good review for this particular restaurant. Thank you for you a year of a fully belly and smiles. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for delicious food!! ( I always order the pork fried rice and general tso. Dankness!!) **

The food is absolutely awful. No crab rangoon, no beef on a stick but instead teriyaki chicken with the popular platter. Order pu pu for 3 and you get 3 little duck sauce. $45 for a pu pu after for 3. Are you kidding me? The breading is all falling off the chicken fingers. I almost certain that by how salty the chicken wings are they must be frozen. Terrible place
