Our restaurant specializes in great food and catering to our patrons from May 17th to Labor Day weekend. We want every one of you who are dining with us to have an exceptional experience. We are proud to serve local Iowa pork and beef products along with fresh Seafood flown into the Lakes area. During the afternoon enjoy looking over beautiful West Lake Okoboji while enjoying a refreshing cocktail and great food. As evening approaches, join us to watch an incredible sunset with excellent dishes that meet everyone’s liking and pair that dish with a glass of wine from our extensive wine list. The firework show every Saturday night through-out the summer is especially breathtaking from our patio.

This is an Okoboji icon right in the heart of all of the lakefront action in Arnold’s Park. It’s always busy so I’d suggest making a reservation. There is indoor seating and a large outdoor patio. The service is absolutely impeccable. You can tell that the staff is very well versed on taking good care of their customers. I had the Canadian Walleye and it was very good. My husband had a rigatoni pasta dish that was delicious. Fresh baked dinner rolls with butter and salad accompanied our entrees. They have an extensive wine and cocktail menu. Even on a busy Fourth of July weekend, everything was amazing!

We were there on Saturday night it was very hot and had outside seating. The waiter was very nice and polite. Our appetizer and drinks came out very quickly. Our food came out next and was delicious. Unfortunately the table next to us was complaining about everything they got which was hard to believe because ours was so good and very hot.

Maxwell’s is a must visit when in the lakes area. The food consistently remains the best by the lake. Their service and atmosphere can’t be beat. With both indoor and outdoor dining there’s space for everyone. Because it’s so popular, you will need reservations for both lunch and dinner.

Everything was great. From the service to the food. Visited on the 4th of July. Small hiccup with our order. The owner was quick to come by and apologize and do everything he could to make sure we left happy.

We stopped in to Maxwell’s for lunch on this occasion about 12:45 pm. Even without a reservation we were able to be seated immediately. Our server came and took our drink order and brought them right away. For our meals we ordered the Watermelon Salad with Salmon and an order for their Chicken Salad Sandwich. We wanted to have a side of French Fries but we’re told their fryer wasn’t working so we substituted Kettle Chips. The Watermelon Salad and Salmon was very good. The Chicken Salad Sandwich advertised it would be served on a Croissant, but it lacked the layering and flakiness of a true Croissant. Their Chicken Salad recipe was fairly traditional but I found it to be too wet for my liking. We chose these items thinking it wouldn’t take too long for our orders to come out. However, it took about 25 minutes. Not sure why, they had plenty of serving and table staff available. Other than that unusual, wait, service was very good.

Excellent food and service. The seafood was extremely fresh and delicious. The colossal shrimp cocktail was amazing. The shrimp were colossal in size! The ahi tuna was fantastic! It was extremely fresh, had great flavor and was cooked to perfection. Everything about our meal and experience was excellent. Reservations are recommended because they get busy. The wait staff/hostess was very accommodating. We were visiting from out of town and were able to get a reservation day of by being a bit flexible on time.

Our family has been coming up to Okoboji multiple times a summer for quite a few summers and we typically have our places that we eat. Over the last few summers we have been trying different eating establishments and today, June 4th, for lunch we decided to try Maxwell’s for the first time and we were impressed with the service and the food. My wife ordered the avocado toast, our daughter the kids angel hair pasta, which comes with a Frisbee under the plate for the kids, and myself the seared tuna sandwich. All of the food was cooked perfectly, the sauces with each were very good and we all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We all agree overall a great place to eat and relax.

Came to Maxwell’s for the 1st time and loved it there! Was ready to review it 5/5 after the Caesar salad, but was even more blown away the scallop pasta. Server Liz was incredibly sweet and welcoming. Wish I could come back & try the whole menu!
