We decided to start our first visit to the area at Maxwell’s, drawn in by its appealing aesthetics and relaxed ambiance. We shared the mac and cheese appetizer and a chicken Caesar wrap while sipping drinks at the bar. The food was great, and the service was fast & friendly. The bartender even took the time to answer my numerous questions about her recommended places to visit while in the city.

Major let down. Came in around 8:50 with a group people. Me and my husband were just walking around the restaurant to see where we wanted to sit since we wanted to eat. Julie, the waitress comes around and says “can I HELP you” I said we wanted eat, she stated that the kitchen closes in 8 minutes. There are signs saying pizza and and pretzels are served after 9 pm? So not sure on the miscommunication.

Charlie our waitress was very nice and attentive to us. The cheese curds are delicious the sweet and spicy boneless wings were delicious too. I ordered the Kansas City burger and it was amazing. Fast friendly service and prices are good.

The service from the bartender was absolutely terrible. He was extremely inattentive and when I gave him my credit card to pay for one beer he left it open as a tab. My buddy and I ordered wings in a couple of burgers. The burgers came first and when we asked about the wings the bartender forgot all about them and didn’t order them so we just scratched that idea. During dinner we could hardly get a beer cuz the bartender wasn’t recognizing us at all. He apparently left my tab open on my credit card after giving it back. This is the morning after and I went to the gas station to buy a coffee and I couldn’t pay for it with my card because he left the tab open. I don’t know what planet Eric was on but he is the worst bartender I have ever encountered in my entire life and I’m 58. I will not go to Maxwell’s again and now I understand why the entire place was empty.

Order wings at 6pm, pickup time was 7:45. Had to still wait 10 minutes for the order. Get home and wings are all under cooked. Live nearby so returned. Talked to the manager and was told they were busy and he could cook a new order. Asked how the kitchen could send food like that out, and again response was they were busy tonight. Complete joke of a response, food safety people. Beware visiting this place, especially if they are busy.

Burgers were fantastic, flavorful, thankfully w/o a giant bun. Chips were awesome. Mac’n cheese was flavorful and yummy. Our server, Emma, was wonderful, attentive, friendly and helpful. A great Mother’s Day meal! Thank you

Great pub atmosphere and service, lackluster food. I ordered the bacon and blue cheese burger and the burger meat was blackened and dry (I asked for it to be cooked medium). The blue cheese and bacon toppings were skimpy – not even a full piece of bacon, and a standard slice of cheddar would’ve been more cheese than what I received. I ordered the ‘homemade’ kettle chips and they were not warm or fresh (I’m 80% sure they are just Lays). I expected more for the $15 price point and other reviews.
