Welcome to our family run barbecue restaurant, where we pride ourselves on serving barbecue you’ll wanna tell your friends about. Our signature brisket and sausage is bold, yet tender and flavorful.
That’s just what we do. No frills, no fuss—just old-school Texas charm and meat that speaks for itself.
Come in and say hello! We look forward to it.

We stopped at this local restaurant on 11/09/25 and got some Brisket, Ribs, Chicken, and Sausage. All of the items were very good. This is a no frills place but the BBQ is the best around.

Took the grandkids to eat and the food was great! Got brisket, pork ribs and a sausage link. Didn’t break my wallet like some places. The service was very friendly and not long of a wait. Highly recommend coming out if you want great food at a great price. Also has an ice cream shop next door!

This is not your typical fancy bbq place. This rustic old beauty with real Texas spirit. Cozy and family like. Sometimes not extremely clean, sometimes with no veggies, but always great meat, like your beloved grand ma house. Sausage is great, not greasy. Good brisket. Be aware that there are not a lot of options for side dishes. Authentic interior.

Super old school cool barbecue joint. Ribs, brisket, sausage were all amazing. Super friendly owners and reasonable prices compared with the “big name” joints down the road in Lockhart. Highly recommend taking the extra 5 mins outside Lockhart to give them a try. You won’t be disappointed or leave hungry.

This place is off the beaten path and well worth it! Absolutely delicious. Authentic. Definitely a hidden gem, “hole in the wall” type atmosphere, and a super kind and gracious man running the place! Front entrance is barrier free / no steps / wheelchair accessible! Not sure about the bathrooms though (didn’t check).

Old school Texas barbecue. The brisket is brilliant, the sausage is the best I’ve had and I’m from Lockhart, & that banana pudding is just creamy perfection. This is what Lockhart barbecue is supposed to be like, and it’s made in the little town of Maxwell Texas.

I was a little lost and stopped here to ask for directions and water. I apologized in advance because I was just going to ask to use the restroom, but there was nobody inside, and this place looked so cool, I forgot about the bathroom. I only had a few bucks on me, so I tried a piece of chicken. It was a smoked quarter. It’s so hard to find real smoked chicken in Austin. I have to come back to try the brisket. That’s why the review and pics. I don’t want to forget this place. The atmosphere was so dope to me so I took pics. I’m a city kid from up north. We definitely don’t have anything like this where I’m from. I highly recommend you stopping here if you’re passing through. He said they are only open on the weekends for now, so don’t miss the chance if you’re passing through Maxwell on a Saturday or Sunday.

I came to Austin/Lockhart from Baltimore solely to complete my BBQ pilgrimage. I’ve been to Oklahoma, the Carolinas, all the big BBQ places. I think I’ve found the best rib. The man puts so much love into his ribs. The smoke was just right, the seasoning was on point, and the crust was literally perfect. We were already full from other BBQ and I wolfed down every bit I got and considered getting more before my wife stopped me. The brisket was also great, but good god those ribs are what I can’t stop thinking about. They were incredibly nice and hospitable. The vibe inside just screams Texas BBQ.
We’re here for one more day so I’m gonna try a few more places, but I might just end up back here for more ribs.
Thanks for having us and awesome work!!!

Not much to look at on the outside or the inside but that is sometimes typical in Texas. You’re there for the food. The BBQ is pretty darn tasty. And save room for the banana pudding. It is great. The guys behind the counter are friendly.
