I don’t usually give bad reviews (especially since my sister always picks great spots!), but this location was just okay for me. The food was decent — if you enjoy sweet greens, this is definitely your place. Everything else was fine, just not something I’d go back for. Still, we did enjoy ourselves!

Tight walking space inside by the bar. Tried the chicken wrapped lobster for the first time and was not a fan. It’s expensive also. I also don’t understand why they put an empty lobster tail shell with the meal. You can’t eat it.

Max’s Wine Dive in Houston offers a truly delightful experience with its inviting atmosphere and attentive service. The vibe is relaxed yet sophisticated, making it perfect for a casual evening out or a special occasion. While their “world-famous” fried chicken boasts an incredible crunch factor, it regrettably missed the mark on seasoning, leaving a bit to be desired in terms of flavor. However, the true star of the show, and what I enjoyed most, were the deviled eggs – especially with the irresistible caramelized bacon on top. They’re an absolute must-try!

Celebrated our anniversary at here at Max’s Wine Dive. This was our first time here but it will not be our last. The food and wine were amazing! We met Zee the owner who was so personal-able. April was the best waitress that made our evening enjoyable. To top it off that big a.. brownie is nothing to tangle with…it was so good. I had a great brunch celebration for my first client at Max’s Wine Dive. I occasionally come here for brunch once or twice a year but this day was special…the fried deviled egg app was awesome and a great starter and the French toast was a perfect consistency…not too soggy or crispy. Of course the fried chicken tenders had a great flavor. Thanks Max’s Wine Dive for celebrating a special day with me!!!

We were blindsided considering it was just 2 of us. Total shocker.
So since I’m still in shock, while I sit at the bar now, let me do a full list of issues. I have been a long time fan before ownership.
(1) Glasses still full of wine with only half of our food eaten, and bar tender asked if we were ready to check out. Really?
(2) Took several attempts to get the bar tenders attention to order food. She was busy singing.
(3) positive note, the music is present but not over bearing. It is also a nice pleasant mix.

Personally, I’m not sure what the hype is about. The chicken was… OK not worth the price paid… over priced. I’ve had chicken cheaper that had more flavor. The Lemon pepper wings, the lemon pepper couldn’t be tasted. The onion rings should be fried harder and needed more flavor. The greens were good. For the prices on the menu service should be great. When we arrived (party of 6) on a Saturday at 6:30 PM she was sitting at the bar on her phone, We were sat and we waited, someone came to give us water. What I didn’t hear was “Would you like something to drink?” No others were in there, but yet we needed to get her attention to place our order. Not one of our party of 6 is willing to revisit!

Excellent brunch French toast with added chicken tenders and cocktails !! Waitstaff is excellent and attentive 🙂 However they are now including an 18% gratuity on the bill and if you don’t catch it you will pay double for the tip. I always tip 20% cash if the service is good but I don’t like having the tip included with no mention of it !! My bad for not checking the bill closely 🙂 Are people not tipping anymore ??
