This buffet was a good idea. Food was great even though not everything is up to par especially the lechon and crispy pata. So just enjoyed the great ones. Pancit, kare-kare, chop suey and seafood paella always the favorite(s). Then the different types of lumpia are great to have. Make your own halo-halo station, sometimes the ingredients were missing but was still good experience when you can make your own halo halo. Make your own halo halo, need to have when you’re at a party.

They need to work on the customer service. We kept waiting for awhile for our drinks to come.

But all in all, it’s a great buffet.

We came in during a busy time ; the wait was not too bad. The food is okay ; we ordered Kare Kare (needs more peanut butter) . The meat was really tender but needs more shrimp paste on the side. Bulalo was not bad. The pork BBQ did not taste like it was cooked over an open fire ; it was likely just in the oven, broiled maybe. Service was friendly. My only real issue is their washroom. It smells so much like sewer; it was truly disgusting. Management needs to do something about that, as that smell will not make me want to come back to this restaurant again. The whole experience there is about a 6/10.

We always eat at Max’s when we come to Hawaii. There was a big party today so we expected a long wait. Nope, we were seated in 5min. Ordered a few min after sitting and waited 5min for our food to come out. It was all nice a hot. There was 8 of us in our group so I was really impressed on the service, speed and freshness of out food. The employees were very friendly.

I love the Crispy Pata and the rest of the family gets they’re usual home cooked Filipino food. If you like Filipino cuisine or just want home cooked food like we do then you can’t go wrong at Max’s.

One of my favorite food – is Filipino food! On Valentine’s Day, my husband and I decided to take our family out instead of just the two of us to Max for a family date night. Our girls couldn’t attend because they already had plans. Max’s is always packed! We dined in and were seated at the corner – my hubby, myself, my baby sister, and my niece. It was only the 5 of us, but we were there to feast! The service was excellent, never had to ask for refills, and we did not wait long for our food, given how busy they were.

When our family got sick with Covid, Max’s was our place to order soup and all the food from.

It is a little on the pricey side, but it is worth it if you don’t want to cook. Our bill was $270 including the $35 gratuity added on by the server for a party of 5.

We will come back again, and again!

Don’t ever get to-go here. They give less of a portion for to-go compared to when you actually dine in. Not very consumer friendly. $20 for a little container of sinigang compared to the huge bowls they give you? I even ordered the add on for more soup and vegetables and they still gave me a medium size container. Do better Max’s. Food is great though.

This restaurant is also a famous restaurant even back home in the Philippines. They serve Filipino food and their specialty is actually their chicken menu (fried, roasted, etc.) but they added other famous Filipino cuisines to their menu, even back home. It is a good restaurant for foreigners who are interested in trying Filipino food. Don’t forget to eat halo-halo since it’s a staple must-have in any Filipino restaurant. The servers speak Filipino to those who miss speaking the mother tongue. They accept local and foreign credit cards.

I never thought my boyfriend gonna propose to me in front of all our parents and it’s inside my favorite restaurant!!! Good Filipino food as always – Max’s Restaurant, it’s like we never left Philippines. Christmas-themed the inside, good quality customer service, Fast they’re servings. We went there right when they open cause usually there is a line already 10:30am

I love visiting Max of Manila whenever I’m in the mood for delicious Filipino cuisine. The restaurant has a wonderfully clean and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. My go-to dishes are the chicharon bulaklak, bulalo, and fish sinigang—they’re always cooked to perfection! Recently, we celebrated a special occasion there, and it was the perfect choice. Our server was not only attentive but also incredibly friendly and humorous, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meal. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to return!

Terrible service; waiter served food and disappeared. It’s not even busy at 3PM. Food is okay and waaaayyyyy overpriced. Also portions are small. I feel ripped off. No going back……ever!

There were a lot of flies flying around the restaurant that day. Normally, that would just be annoying. But on this day, it became quite a bit more alarming.

My wife ordered a porridge dish (Arroz Caldo) while I tried a fried egg noodle dish (Pancit Canton). It seemed like a safe choice. But when our food was delivered, the condition of the food was somewhat unbelievable.

While my wife’s porridge was hot, my fried noodles were lukewarm on the inside, and actually cold on the outside. I kid you not… It was not even room temperature on the outside. It was actually COLD, as if it had been sitting under an air conditioning vent.

When I complained about it, all the server offered were apologies, and perhaps another dish. Needless to say, I wasn’t about to have their cooks have another crack at a complaining customer!

So imagine a cooked dish sitting on a counter long enough to get below room temperature, chilled by a possible AC draft. Now imagine a restaurant infested with flies. What are the chances that my dish was free from flies all that time?

All I can say is that I was not happy with that restaurant experience. And my digestive system was also not great for the next day and a half.

In hindsight, I should have requested that they take the dish back, and have it knocked off of my bill. That we weren’t offered a discount nor a full refund of that chilled dish was not cool (but not totally surprising for an Asian restaurant).

Let’s just chalk that up as one for the “NOT Recommended” department!

Temperature aside, the overall taste of the noodles was okay. The noodles could have been more firm. The two shrimp included were some of the driest and overcooked shrimp I’ve ever tasted in a fried noodle dish.

On the positive side, my wife thought that her Arroz Caldo porridge was good.
