We passed by Jacksonville just to experience Max’s so my son can taste the nostalgic dishes from the homeland. It was such a perfect timing because the crowd started coming in just before we finished our dinner. We were seated promptly, & the staff were very friendly. It didn’t take long for our orders to arrive and everything was perfect! My son, more than I expected, was very impressed and ate well! I felt the love and was transported back home with this simple dinner. All the food was amazing and prepared well. We had leftovers we took to the hotel but before the night was over, we ate them all!

Wow! This place is amazing. For never having Philipino food, beyond lumpia, me and my wife fell in love. The service is amazing and the food is even better. If there is such a thing. The pork skewers with the malt vinegar takes it to a new level and the Kare-kate(peanut beef stew) with oxtail in it is so delicious with the salty shrimp paste, over rice. We’re both super happy we came here and got the mango sticky rice for dessert. Next time we’ll request that they hold the coconut shavings because the coconut sauce is enough.

Finally got to visit!!! Opening month was very busy of course. Food was by far the closest to my Cebuano taste. Love all the food that we ordered that day. The serving portion per price is family size. My son and I over ordered during our visit, not knowing the serving sizes. We ordered quite a lot (1 serving good for 2 people).
Chicharon Bulaklak, Lumpia, Lechon Kawali, Beef Bulalo(good for 3 people), Beef Kare-Kare, Garlic Rice (large good for 3 to 4 people). Though the Fresh lumpia was a little bit different from what I like back home in Cebu, had a much softer filling. I guess it is hard to find a fresher “ubod” filling in the states. Of course, I don’t know how it taste everywhere else in the Philippines. To tell you, we had a lot of food left to bring home and enjoyed it the next day.

We went on a Wednesday about 1ish and it was not busy at all.

Come all and check it out!!

We will be coming back again for sure.

We are excited to try this restaurant. It’s just open this year. Obviously we waited couple’s of months to fad go down.
The atmosphere was a bit different from the max restaurant set up. May be because of the long narrow shape.
The service was good. They handle the sisig situation well. Thumbs up.
The food was delicious.
Price was about 35-50 up per person depending on the order.
Located at college park.
We had a wonderful lunch. …

My Filipino wife and niece really enjoyed the food.
Of course they had to almost order everything on the menu. We traveled from East Tennessee, specifically to try this the restaurant. And it was worth every mile. I drove to see the smiles on their faces

Drove 3.5 hrs just to try. Didn’t disappoint. Their bbq is a must try. 4 sticks for $24, it is worth the price. Was craving for lumpiang ubod but was not pleased. It was bland, sauce has no garlicky taste. Sinigang na bangus was good, authentic sour taste, not the instant powder kind. Laing is a must try too! Sago gulaman too sweet. Will def come back for the bbq and to try other dishes. Shareable portions. Our server was very nice and friendly!

My wife and I were in the area and decided to check out Max’s grand opening to see how busy things were. After being quoted a 45-minute to 1-hour wait, we went ahead and put our name on the list and passed the time shopping nearby.

Once seated, we went all in. We ordered the chicharron bulaklak, crispy sisig, pork sinigang, large garlic rice, and of course, Max’s famous whole fried chicken. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. A hearty lunch with plenty of leftovers to bring home. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice; a sweet and refreshing finish to the meal.

Service was solid overall, though there were a couple of misses. The sinigang came out lukewarm when we would’ve much preferred it hot and both the sisig and chicharron bulaklak lacked the crispiness their names promise. No worries, they just opened.

Still a great meal and a fun experience. We’ll definitely be back in the next week to bring friends. All the kabayans made it feel just like home in the Philippines.

Definitely try Max’s in Jacksonville. The Crispy Pata was amazing. Very different atmosphere than the Glendale location in Los Angeles area, but well worth the experience. Great for groups, special occasions or if you’re craving solid Filipino food. Save room for desserts! Fast and friendly service. Very efficient. Excellent!

I got the noodle dish(pancit). I had a fruity drink and halo halo for dessert. The main dish had shrimp and other good stuff in there. But, the noodles tasted a little like old oil. I am so happy to see a Filipino Restaurant in our area-Arlington. I always try to support local. The halo halo was one of a kind-like no other. I can’t to try the fried chicken on my next visit.
Welcome to Arlington.

I love that there’s a Max’s here! I visited in the Philippines over 10 years ago. It tasted just as good! I liked everything but especially the lumpia, both Shanghai and the fresh one.
