Food was decent—bit over priced for tacos. Queso was a too thick for my personal liking. Rock fish was cooked well, could use a bit more flavors. Churro was highly disappointing. It was very dry and bland…I would recommend avoiding this desert. The restaurant is designed well, but the environment was uncomfortably loud.

I would say if you could go anywhere else, go there instead of here (or any Atlas restaurants). There are tons of restaurants that are actually offering Mexican food that you don’t have to go to as a status symbol or something. I didn’t go here by choice of course, but I was willing to see why people are so excited about it. Very limited menu, even more limited for vegans/vegetarians. I probably wouldn’t recommend it if you have dietary restrictions, as the only options were like asparagus tacos for a main. If you go here you are getting scammed in broad daylight, let me just say that. $9+ for a single taco? Insane. It’s not even just about the prices too, I got the sweet plantains and the “street corn.” The street corn was nothing like actual street corn, it tasted like canned corn with some bland feta on top of it and two slices of chili. Not good at all, and $14 for a little plate of it. The service was also lacking for a high end restaurant, we had to keep asking for water refills, drinks and food took a long time, and food came out separately so people were waiting for their food while others were able to eat. Overall, just not worth it, you would be better off going to a REAL Mexican restaurant. You’re in Baltimore, there’s plenty of good options. But sure, go here if you want to drop a bag for bland food.

In town for event and stayed nearby at the Marriott Waterfront. Location convenient and love that general area. The restaurant is lovely and comfortable. The service was very good. The prices didn’t scare us but we were hoping the cuisine and taste would match. All food just ok. And, of course, then overpriced as such. Even presentation not great. Chips appeared and tasted store bought. Salsa was yummy but served oddly in what looked like a banana boat. Tacos presented as one and without any flare – and just ok. The cheese quesadilla could have been bought anywhere for much less and probably even taste better. The beet salad was strange and too sweet. The best thing – the crab fritters. Wish we would have walked to another restaurant and would not return. Giving a three for service and the inside of the restaurant.

A stunning culinary gem in the heart of the city! Maximón is a feast for the senses—from its thoughtfully curated ambience to the stunning, eclectic decor, this Mexican-inspired restaurant is truly a beauty to behold. Whether you’re out for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion, Maximón offers a versatile and inviting space that sets the perfect tone.

I visited on a weekday afternoon, which turned out to be the perfect time to truly soak in the atmosphere. The restaurant was pleasantly quiet, allowing me to fully appreciate the decor and enjoy a relaxed, unhurried meal.

To start, I ordered the Guacamole and Chips. This wasn’t your average guacamole—Maximón adds a creative twist with unexpected ingredients like feta cheese, giving it a tangy richness that played beautifully against the freshness of the avocado and the crunch of the chips. A delightful start that definitely stood out.

For the main course, I couldn’t resist trying both the Carne Asada and Grilled Shrimp tacos. Each taco was packed with flavor, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into balancing every element. The Carne Asada was tender and smoky, while the shrimp had just the right touch of char and spice. Every bite was a harmonious mix of textures and bold, vibrant flavors.

I highly recommend Maximón to anyone looking for a unique dining experience that goes beyond the typical. I’m already planning a return visit—this time for their weekend brunch, which I’ve heard is just as exceptional.

Maximon is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. Their menu offers an incredible selection of Latin-inspired dishes, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors in every bite. The crafted cocktails were top-tier expertly mixed and full of unique flavors that perfectly complemented our meal.

Our waiter, Vic, provided outstanding service, making sure we had everything we needed and offering great recommendations. The restaurant was managed flawlessly by Dejon, whose attention to detail and hospitality truly set Maximon apart. A must visit spot for an unforgettable dining experience!

What a beautiful restaurant! The atmosphere is stunning with lots of greenery, super comfy chairs, and awesome views of the harbor. The ceviche was incredible – I could’ve ordered 3 more! The yucca fries were delicious. I tried 4 of the tacos – the asparagus one was great in texture, but lacked some flavor. The mushroom one was delicious in flavor, but a bit chewy in texture. The fish taco was awesome & the shrimp taco had a nice, balanced flavor and texture – prob my favorite. There were many other dishes I wanted to try, especially the sides. The menu is pretty unique, so I would recommend this place to adventurous eaters. The outdoor bar is vast and overlooks the water. I’m sure in summer, it’s a stellar spot to hang out. Overall, this is a great date night spot or for a night out with friends!

The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, coffee was just ok. Atmosphere was very cozy and charming and the live music was a very nice addition to it! Highly recommend this place for any occasion!

As a lover of Mexican cuisine, I selected this restaurant for my birthday for an elevated Mexican experience. The location is fantastic being right off the water. We requested outside seating and the weather cooperated perfectly. We were able to watch the sunset from where we sat. Our server was personable, funny and attentive! He even sung a birthday song for us, it was hilarious, sorry I can’t remember his name. I’ll be going back for the chicken chiccharonnes by itself!! They were cooked to perfection and soooo good!! No complaints around the table. He made sure we liked our drinks and had them done over until we were all satisfied. I loved entire my experience here and will be going back!

First time visiting Maximon. The experience was absolutely awesome from the time we arrived until the time we left. The hostess escorted me to the sesting area I reserved to ensure that it met the needs of our party before seating us and it did. Our waiter was Victor, he was attentive, warm and professional. The food and drinks were outstanding. It was restaurant week which allowed for excellent choices. The decor was gorgeous and to top of the experience, they had a live band playing.

Wonderful food and brilliant people here!

We came to celebrate our 5th Anniversary and it was one unforgettable night!

We ordered the mussels and it’s so flavourful! They were so fresh and totally at the right texture, not overcooked. The catfish taco had a beautiful blend of freshness and spices. The spicy margaritas won our hearts too!

Zoe was our server. She greeted us with a warm welcome and a genuine smile, she is professional and gave us all personal touches that marked our night special! Also there was an anniversary toast treated on the house, with a lovely card

Thank you for tonight and we will definitely come back again !
