This Hidden Gem Keeps Getting Better
Here’s another update on this little hidden gem of a place, and honestly, every time I go, it gets that much better. I can truly say—and I know this is a huge statement—that I cannot find anything bad or anything that needs to be improved.
I would definitely suggest going here for a home-cooked style meal. It’s a very easy-going, relaxed senior type place, and everybody is extremely friendly. The only minor downside I can think of are the limited parking and the fact that it can get very busy, especially during breakfast. Would I suggest a family to go? Absolutely.

Cute little hidden diner! My wife and I recently discovered this spot as we were getting A&W and had to check it out. The service was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly and nice. Everything is reasonably priced. The food itself was cooked to perfection and loaded with flavor! Highly recommend anyone in the area to come and check this spot out!

The food was delicious! Our server was wonderful : ) We took a shot, went in with some trepidation…but wow, what a pleasant surprise. The half slab ribs happened to be on special, and my youngest daughter gobbled them right up…another order was the “Grilled Chicken Grinder” – holy crap…for $11.75, not only did my picky oldest daughter rave about the flavor of the sandwich (especially the bread) – but it was also enough to feed 2 hungry girls (we took home half the sandwich and the 3rd daughter, who was at home and had just finished swim practice, absolutely mauled it and also gave it kudos! And we loved the soup, too. We will be going back – totally a win at Maxhari’s Family Restaurant.

After a visit to Michigan Memorial to place a holiday wreath on our family members grave yesterday we wanted to find a new place for lunch. My brother, sisters, and I agreed on Maxhari’s.
Our orders consisted of a smothered chicken dinner, fish sandwich, tuna sandwich, and I had a meat lovers skillet and a Saganaki as an appetizer.
All of the food was brought to us quickly and hot from a very informed and lovely waitress. (I’m sorry that we didn’t get her name… possibly a owner of this restaurant)
The food was delicious with great portions and very reasonable prices. We will happily be coming back to explore the menu as a group or individually.
I wish I tried the deserts but I was full from the Meat Skillet!!

So happy to have a place like this around this area! Food was good, especially the omelette! Soup was amazing!! Service was great! Only reason for the 4 stars is because even though food was good it wasn’t as amazing as other places. The meat had inedible fat/tendon all over and it also didn’t have as many options like changing your side to a pancake like basically every other Coney Island in downriver. Would come back again though!

Famous New Orleans Muffulleta WOWED , I took my own Olive Salad gave to cook and OMG Delicious. Bread is spread with Olive Salad on both sides that highlights the meat inside.The muffuletta is a signature sandwich of New Orleans. The bread is characterized by a soft and spongy interior, a light crust, made in house Grinder bread. Best Grinders in Michigan a whole menu of them, see photo with choices . I’ve tried half of these Great Grinders, they huge always can only eat half. She had Smothered Chicken with real Lumpy Mashed Potatoes. I made mine combo with Fantastic Fries and Coleslaw that’s marvelous delicious . We shared a bowl of Soup, all Soups outstanding three to choose from everyday. So Happy for Alicia she becoming famous, many customers get a photo with her. She’s a keeper always 5 star service with a smile.
