Started with their Waterfront cosmo. It was delicious. For lunch my wife got the Roasted Vegetable Salad with Chicken. She said it was very good. I had their Shrimp Po Boy with house mac salad. It was very good.
Will return for their dinner menu.
Many items are marked on the menu with an * asterisk to indicate gluten free. The service must have been improved over the last few months, judging by reviews from a few months ago. We were checked on frequently, dirty plates were bussed as needed water glasses refilled. That being said, drink orders were taken right away while it was a half hour before our meal order was taken and food arrived 30 minutes after that. They did bring bread and butter to snack on, which doesn’t help one who is gluten free, but my husband enjoyed it.
I suggest going early, about 4:30 pm for dinner in order to get a table if you don’t have a reservation. It fills up quickly and it will be an hour until you eat anyway.
The ambiance is classy but one can dress casually for dinner. Beautiful view of the Mohawk river from the windows.
I had pecan crusted Salmon which was delicious. I like sweet foods, but if you don’t, be forewarned that the pecans have a syrupy sweet coating.
My husband had the scallops over risotto that he enjoyed. I included a picture of our two dishes.
They had a gluten free chocolate cake (possibly a torte) available for dessert, although neither of us had room. They didn’t list desserts on the menu, so I didn’t pace myself according. How many times do restaurants have ANYTHING gluten free for dessert anyway?
Overall, a very good meal with none of the usual anxiety we have when eating out.
Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Our waiter John was attentive and nice.
They offered a set menu (included for reference) with a few different selections to choose from. It was four courses for $90 per person, which also included champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, a cute touch and perfect for the occasion.
For the appetizer my husband got the fried oysters and I had the braised pork belly, both were amazing. Then we followed it with the poached pair salad and the red pepper bisque. The bisque was to die for and so flavorful and creamy!
For the main course, my husband got the lobster and I chose the filet, which was incredibly tender and absolutely amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented.
By the time we got to dessert we were both pretty full, but we got the smore cheesecake and the lemon zest posset. Again, both were SO good even though we couldn’t finish them all!
Despite how busy it was, our waitress was fantastic, she was attentive, friendly, and completely on top of everything all night. The food all came out in a timely manner and our drinks were always topped off and not sitting empty. The service really made the experience even better.
We will definitely be back! I highly recommend
