The rest of the food I have ordered was okay. I got bourbon bbq chicken, but it was a little disapponting how there wasn’t a lot of that bbq sauce at all. I liked the corn and the onion rings, though. Other than that, my husband ordered cheeseburger, but the patty was charred and the fries that came with it wasn’t as seasoned as it was said on the menu.
The service was pretty meh. Our server took my husband’s food when he was still eating. She didn’t ask him if he would like to consume the extra fries he got.

The menu does not seem significantly different than when these were more common. Still features an all American vibe. We got a Philly cheesesteak and a grilled chicken sandwich. We upgraded one of our sides to the garlic goat cheese mashed potatoes.
Our waiter, while clearly bored, was also lackadaisical and took his time so we ended up spending a lot more time there for lunch than we expected to. Also, I did not find much cheese in my Cheesesteak … while I was looking for it, he came over, pulled on a pair of glasses and pointed to a small glob and said “there it is!” Not exactly what I expected
The food was reasonably good although the tang of the goat cheese did not really work for me.
Overall a reasonable lunch for the price.
Be back.
Old review: Haven’t been in this place in ages. I’d say $14 for a burger fries a side salad and a cookie is a pretty decent deal. Unfortunately they only give you like five fries but it was enough. The salad was excellent. Great variety of greens, well chopped, and even had tomatoes and cucumbers on it. Actually better than Romas! Way better. Always love the ambiance here too. Great low level lighting. Cool decor, the chandeliers, the glass lamps, I forgot how cool this place is. Hope they keep doing well to stay around. We came in for member Mondays with 20% off. The chain doin the best nowadays is Applebees cause they have robust specials for inflation. If this place does they will continue to do well. Burger was excellent as well. One of the best I’ve had in Erie. Better than Applebees or any other restaurant. Quality bun, good portion, def made me a fan. I’ll be back!
I LOVE this restaurant.
For 16 years I’ve been a customer of Max & Erma’s.
This restaurant has never disappointed me.
I’ve traveled from Potsdam NY to this location.
JUST for this tortilla soup.(It is not traditional tortilla soup.)
However, NO matter how many states and miles I have to venture. No distance will ever keep me from visiting this restaurant for thee TORTILLA SOUP
Let me say, the food and atmosphere were great. I had the Cajun Chicken Alfredo and it was delicious.
The food was reasonably priced and the restaurant was very clean.
The thing that stood out the most was the staff, particularly the Manager, Rachel. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming.
This was a pleasant surprise and a refreshing experience all the way around. I recommend if you are in the area, and I would definitely eat there again the next time I’m in Erie.
