Service and staff are good, however food came to table a little slow.
We ordered calamari, Ribeye and pork chop for dinner and a couple of cocktails. Cocktails were okay, tasty enough. Can’t complain about the food overall, everything really good. Calamari was lightly battered and fried. Ribeye was a really decent size and cooked exactly how it was ordered (medium rare). Pork chop was a bit overdone however still a good dish.
Service was friendly and attentive. Building is reminiscent of Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus. Think tall ceilings, lots of wood, high backed booths. Very nice.
We also got the chili lime shrimp appetizer and when I tell you this was the smallest appetizer I’ve ever seen.. I almost thought it was a joke, but the menu does, in fact, say it comes with FIVE ‘prawns’. They were regular size shrimp that you eat in a single bite, not the larger prawns that you’d expect from a $15 for appetizer. The portion size was so laughable that we waited in weary apprehension for the $100 in steaks for the next 30 minutes.
Prime rib 3.8/5
Ribeye 3.5/5
The sauce for the chili lime shrimp was tasty, but we got more flavor from dipping our forks into the sauce than the 2.5 small shrimps we both ate within 10 seconds of it being dropped off.
The waitress was pleasant and moderately attentive however, the man who seated us did not smile and was dressed in rumpled jeans and run-down shoes, looking very sloppy. The atmosphere is still wonderful, private tables, quiet, not cold but the decor is going to seed.
So sad that a good place doesn’t put some money back in to maintain appearance and invest in a quality chef.
No, wait, due to a reservation. Super easy to reserve online.
Psstt…get the waffle fries….
