The good: phenomenal service. Our waiter is also a singer, and he was singing in the middle of the restaurant, and it was the highlight of the meal. He sang like Frank Sinatra, but also does opera. The steak was done perfectly. It was so much better than some of the other steakhouses in town, especially after having such a horrible experience at Gio Prime. Best ribeye I’ve had in a long time. Pork belly appetizer was very tasty and was one of the better pork belly dishes I’ve had . Octopus is very good. Maybe not as tender as Bonnie & Clyde , but it was still really good. Mushrooms were excellent. My wife’s lamb chops were excellent as well. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned.
the bad: it’s very small so it ended up being very noisy. Tables are squished together really close to each other. Very tight parking and you might not get a spot so you might have to park across the street. I recommend it overall.

This was our third time back to Max Chophouse and was unfortunately a disappointing one. Service was very slow. We ordered 2 apps crab cakes and steak tartare. Both were absolutely fantastic. When it came to our entrees it was a different experience. My wife ordered lobster tails and they came over cooked and rubbery and I ordered the salmon special. I tried some of my wife’s lobster and had to spit it out it was so bad. The salmon itself was great however the mess that it was on top of was not good at all. I put it to the side and ate just the salmon. We also got Brussel sprouts which came out soggy and mushy and the make and cheese. The Mac and cheese was delicious.

We “finished” our meal and I tried to have a conversation with the waiter about the food and he was too busy. He asked if we wanted our sides wrapped up and we said just the mac and cheese and he disappeared and never came back with the sides.

We had enough at this point and decided to move on. For a $300 meal for 2 people this one fell very short unfortunately.

My advice is stick to the steak. We’ve had that in the past and it’s always been very good.

We came in for my husbands birthday and could not have had a better night than we did. The wagyu meatballs were an excellent appetizer, the bread and the sauce was a very good combo. I got the chicken entree, my husband got the filet mignon. The filet was cooked perfectly, and my chicken was as well. The sauce that came with the chicken was light, but so so good. I was very pleased with everything, from the cocktails, to the food, and the service. I will definitely be back, and will add Max’s to my rotation of restaurants.

Service is excellent. Food is very good. Plate presentation is non-existent. They serve expensive steaks on a small, plain white, average plate with no garnish. Just a hunk of meat, by itself, on a basic white plate. Also we we were told you must other everything all at once. The dining room is nice except the lights go from dim to normal to dim to normal every few minutes. It was like that the entire time we were there. They either need to replace the dimmer switch because it’s not functioning correctly, get one for the correct wattage of all of the combined bulbs, or get one that is LED bulb compliant if they use leds. For the prices they charge there should be no issues like these. Both items are very easy to remedy.

Making reservations for 6:45pm, we showed up a few minutes early and were quickly seated. I specifically requested a table across from the bar area and the friendly host offered my choice from a few tables. We chose the third table from the host stand.

Starting with a few appetizers, we opted in for the crab cakes, oysters and steak tartare. I found the crab cakes absolutely delicious. Completely jam-packed with crab. As for the oysters, I didn’t expect them to have the vinaigrette already on them. I’ve always had any sort of sauces on the side as I enjoy my oysters raw with nothing on them. Nevertheless, the oysters were tasty. The steak tartare was phenomenal. Rich with the egg yolk on top and nicely seasoned. One of the best steak tartars I’ve had anywhere. The only complaint regarding the appetizers is, they oddly took almost 30 minutes to arrive to our table. I found this odd and definitely not off to a good start.

Onto mains, I’ve opted in for the wagyu special with a side of lobster tail. The steak I found was a bit under seasoned and got most of its flavour from the accompanying sauce on top. I requested the steak medium-rare and after taking half of it home and seeing it in a much better lighting, the steak was cooked much closer to rare and even safe to say, a blue steak. The lobster tail was incredibly gigantic and was tender and succulent. Only complain there is it was slightly lukewarm.

I have to make note the service was impeccable. Rachel was friendly, professional and hospitable. Her service and professionalism are a perfect 10/10.

I’m a little hesitant on whether I would return to Max Chophouse. From the 30-minute wait for appetizers, to an under-done/under-seasoned steak. Mind you, the wagyu special ran $115 for the steak only. I expect the temperature to be perfect, let alone the seasoning. The silverware had some soap spots on them which is a pet peeve of mine especially for a fine-dining restaurant.

Beautiful and clean restaurant, incredibly tight and small bathrooms in the back. With less than several tables inside, the restaurant can be quite loud. Not sure if this is just the crowd it attracts, or the fact the bar takes up half the restaurant.

Again, on the fence if I would return with what I’ve said above.

Had a delicious steak, and Mac and cheese. I was dinning at the bar and received quick and friendly service. They have a lot of regulars. I work next door i see the same cars every week. Atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff treat you like family in profesional way. The food alone makes this place standout because of the level of perfection each plate is prepared too. Each bite of my steak transported me into another world.

This is a GREAT hidden gem, a non-corporate small restaurant with a very personal touch. AMAZING steaks, with a fantastic selection to include very high-end cuts not usually found at other restaurants. Delicious steak, sides, and a very good old fashioned. They were a touch slow getting our dinners out, but it was later at night and understandable. We will return for sure!!!!

This was my first time at Max’s. I had the pork chop and it was fabulous. The best that I’ve ever had. It came with brussel sprouts and potatoes on the side. My dad had the burger and fries which also looked delicious. The restaurant is not very big, so seating quarters are tight. The restaurant has a nostalgic feel to it. It’s not inexpensive but it was worth every penny. I’ll be back!

My first visit at Max Chophouse was a good one. We had reservations which were met on time. The steak tartar was fresh and delicious, and the steak we ordered was cooked perfectly how we ordered it. The NY strip with truffle butter on the side was incredibly tasteful and very large. The filet was perfect as well. Constant water service and attentive waitress but not over attentive; a good balance. Dim atmosphere, family style seating with a small space as a separation, but still felt by ourselves which was nice but social at the same time. This place seems to get good business by just being known, or word of mouth. The store front is not much to behold, and at night could barely see where to turn into the parking lot in front. We ended dinner off with a little espresso which was quite good. The bill we gave two cards and told her to split evenly which she seemed to charge me twice then refund me and never told me, which annoys me. Other that this, we had a good time. We talked with the couple we came with for a while after we were done and didn’t get rushed out at all. Coat check available and great bar with wine selection as well.
