Pros- food was ready on time and the quantity appeared to accurately reflect the number of pounds ordered.
Cons- brisket listed as “thinly sliced” was shredded/pulled, dry and had little flavor, tri tip was dry and only had flavor on the tip layer from the finishing rub they sprinkled over it.
Overall: ordered meat only plates of brisket and tritip for pickup. The brisket was listed on their website as “thinly sliced” but was just a pile of shredded meat, so it could honestly have been any cut. Even though it had been cooked long enough to shred it had the dry texture that makes your teeth feel like they stick a little when you’re chewing and you need a sip of water to swallow it. It felt as if they had messed up their cook and tried to salvage it by shredding the meat and letting it finish in jús in an attempt to soften it up.
The tritip was average tender and also dry and fairly flavorless.
I ate both meats without bbq sauce to get a real feel for their quality and it was a big letdown. I’m sure if you lathered them in sauce and used it to mask the mediocre meal it would help make it more edible, but overall I was disappointed.
The ordering and delivery of food was great, Bennit is very easy to deal with. He also made a few helpful suggestions to keep food from running out to fast…..
All the food was good, chicken was a little dry, but everything else was delicious.
We did brisket, pulled pork, chicken, potato salad, rice, and beans.
They delivered the food with warmer trays to keep things warm for our event.
Their portioning is a little heavy, we ordered for 150 people and had roughly 120-150 come in for food, I ended up with a tray of food extra on everything……. No mad at all! Extras for my employees and myself!
After taxes delivering and all the extra sauce plates and silverware total was approx 16.33 a person…..not bad at all!
This is the 3rd time we have catered with ma and paws and they never disappoint! Give them a try!
I’ve driven by here a hundred times but today we stopped and we got a sandwich and then a bowl. It was so good. I had the tri-tip and he had the brisket, everything was awesome. We had beans and coleslaw and rice. Everything was awesome. We can’t wait to go back. We highly recommend this awesome place and the awesome people that work there.
Pulled pork was amazing. Sweet and tender their sweetie sauce really worked with it. Could use a little more vinegar or mustard though.
The pork rib was also amazing. Tender and lots of flavor. Bothe the Smokey and the sweetie sauce added to the overall flavor.
I prefer my ribs dry and a little less fatty but these were not disappointing.
Definitely worth the effort to try. I will be back. It’s about time there was a real BBQ joint in town.
