This was a cool little dive bar. We had $5 canned wine and draft beer. We would come here again. Mark, our server was a super nice guy!
Update: Canned wine is $6 per can and canned Freakshow wine is $7.50 per can. October 2023

I played the Maverick.Saloon in the early 90s was a lot of fun.
Met awesome people The Peebles and Page show we played up and down the clubs on.
The Stirling Hwy we drove up from Florida we were treated like rock stars. And I think the maverick was my favorite place to play we played there all summer

1. The bar tender we had when we went here was rude, they attempted to play it off a being funny.
2. The food looked like a joke, something you could pass off as food to a heavily inebriated person.
3. There was only one spot left in their parking lot and yet when we entered the bar there was what appeared to be at most 1/4-1/3 of capacity. So in a way like a terrible Tardis from Dr. Who.
4. The bar tender may be new, if that is the case I understand how they handled the crowd surrounding the bar. That being said if they are an experienced employee in this field their behavior leaves a lot of things to be desired.
Taking all of this into account I would only recommend this bar if it was the sole access alcohol there was on the peninsula.

I played pool. After inserting quarters, not all the balls roll out to rack em. Make sure to use the stick or ball to hit em out 😉
There’s a nice deck area to enjoy fresh air and bean bag toss near the fence.

This is a dive bar with phenomenal service. If you are looking for a nice vibe and a cold drink, this place is for you. We didn’t try the food. We played pool and darts. Good time

First night we checked it out it was awesome! Our bartender was amazing and the place was full of good people. Went out for a birthday for a second night and must have hit unhappy hour with the bartender, he had no problem letting us know his parents owned the bar. A bartender makes or breaks your experience that night so pick your nights wisely here! Watch out for the long haired male bartender he is an unhappy fellow

It’s a nice dive bar to either end your night or pre-game before heading out to all the other local bars. It’s also a smoking bar so if your not into tobacco smoke then I’d suggest the fire pit out back to get some fresh air and enjoy a nice fire and meet some interesting people and maybe even a free drink. But all in all it’s still a good bar to art least say you’ve been there.

It was open mic night and there was some good music. We, Goats with Headlamps, played a handful of songs and everyone was diggin it. Nice pool table. Great outdoor lounge area. Nice folks.

Such a fun place. There’s karaoke on some nights. There’s bands on some nights. There’s a DJ on some nights. There’s open mic. There’s all kinds of people. Cyndi is fantastic!!!! There’s a fire pit in the back. This is probably the best bar and soldotna by far. The Maverick is the place to go and when you want to go out and soldotna. I miss it I miss seeing everybody’s faces I miss the atmosphere.
