On a rare rainy day in Bakersfield I stopped in to get a snack and do some work. Even if they were packed I would highly recommend, especially after a shopping trip to the nearby stores. Service and recommendations by

I washed up in the clean and large restroom, and just logged into my laptop and the soup already arrived. The rain had scared everyone away and I was the only one there, so the food came out fast, hot, and very flavorful.
The soup was a small here but could have been a large other places. The avocado was ripe, chicken was moist and shredded beautifully, and the cheese and veggies held everything together.
The birria tacos were much larger than I expected also. The melted cheese in the soft corn tortilla held a large amount of tender and shredded well spiced meat. The small amount of pickled onion and jalapeño, with the fresh lime and radish balanced it out. The juice was so good I had to look around for no one to be nearby and drank some.

The food was good! Service amazing!! One of my favorite places to go for the chips and salsa! Our server/bartender Nelson was great! They have a great $5 happy hour menu! They have a beautiful patio

This is a wonderful establishment with plenty of parking and a nice big standalone building. It’s a split restaurant with bar on one side. The bar atmosphere has tons of tvs, games for the kids and pool tables. The restaurant side is the more authentic family style fine dining. The food is absolutely fantastic and authentic. Ask for Jamie in the bar. Very knowledgeable about the menu and makes a great margarita.

We had lunch there today. We almost didn’t stop because the parking lot was empty. I’m so glad we did.The food was so good and the service was excellent. Our servers name was Nelson, and he was the best. Our host Dania was very friendly and seated us right away. Our food was delicious and came pretty quickly. They have a great lunch menu. Lots of choices. My grandson had the cheese enchiladas, and I had the tostada with chile verde. YUM! We had lots of leftovers too. They have a nice arcade in back and children are welcome to play. And as a bonus, they also have a good senior discount.

Mauricio’s has lost its luster and attention to detail, but it’s not necessarily a deal breaker. Specifically, I was dissatisfied with being given dirty menus with pages that had someone else’s food remnants! Even after bringing it to their attention, replacement menus were no better! Servers shouldn’t be giving cocktail napkins as dinner napkins. They’re too small for the customer, and too expensive for the business! The table side guacamole was bland tasting; essentially it was missing seasonings! I’m not ruling out a future visit because the shrimp cocktail was pretty darn tasty!

I’ve been coming here several times a year for quite a while. The food is excellent, the atmosphere relaxing and pleasant. And Jimmy our waiter is spectacular. He learned my name after one visit. He remembers my previous order. And he’s very friendly and professional. My brother asks to modify the menu items to give him a vegan meal – no problem! I definitely recommend Mauricio’s.
