We had been planning to stop by for a few weeks. By chance, we were the first ones in the door. The guy running the register was nice and the lady that held the door for my step son (broken ankle) was kind.
The food
Presentation was on point.
Beans may have had apple in them? Really nice either way.
The bbq wasn’t up to temp and a little on the dry side but it wasn’t a deal breaker for returning.
The mustard sauce was delicious.

The BBQ place I wanted to go to was closed today so I went to Maurice’s. I thought it was just ok. The building had a great sense of ambience and the staff was very friendly, but the food was more of the chain store quality as opposed to “real” BBQ. I had the 3 meat platter with brisket, pulled chicken, and pulled pork. The brisket was good, as was the chicken, but the pork was not that great. It was a little dry and had an odd flavor. They served them all with mustard BBQ sauce which surprised me. I would have preferred to add my own sauce.
For the sides I chose mac and cheese as well as potato salad. The noodles in the mac and cheese were soggy and there was very little cheese flavor. The potato salad was dry, but had a good flavor. I had hoped for a more authentic experience and this was not it. The dining areas were clean as were the bathrooms. I probably won’t be back.
My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible

OMG Folks this is absolutely the Best Place for Barbeque in Columbia SC We stopped by before the Game to enjoy some local Favorite items. Now I love those Pulled Pork Sandwiches and they are definitely the Best You can also get a Family Pack to take to the Stadium for great Tailgate Food Absolutely stop by and enjoy some Great food and drinks.

Absolutely always worth stopping at such a good burger !! The onion rings are amazing. Can’t even begin to tell you how much you will enjoy this food it’s like no other!! It’s always right when you order! Definitely must try it!
