We had lunch with pulled pork and fries with Cole slaw. The portions were generous. The sauce on pork was on meat rather than on the side. It was a little sweet for my taste, otherwise the meal was fine. We had hush-puppies and ice tea. Lily was our host, she was friendly and helpful. This was a pleasant meal experience. This is basically a take-out business but they have tables for eat-in customers.

I was very unhappy with how I was treated tonight. I’m usually not one to leave reviews but I do want to warn the people of the horrible service. I went to pick up an Uber Eats order and pulled around to the pick up window. I proceeded to wait there for 15 mins with 2 female workers inside glancing at me not saying a thing. I waved at them to get their attention but she proceeded to look the other way. I thought they were just super busy. I went inside and not a customer was there. I asked the man up front who was very kind, why I wasn’t serviced at the window and he told me it’s because the speaker is on the other side of the building. I didn’t see the speaker but that gives them no right to just ignore me. I’m saddened that this is how people treat other people. I made a mistake, but I would have at least wished to be treated like a human being instead of an inconvenience or not being served just because I didn’t speak through the speaker.

I ordered wings and ribs and I received what I think is pulled pork and ribs. I went through the drive through so I didn’t check the bag before I arrived home. They said it was an up charge for the wings too so I’m a little upset.

Very disappointed tonight. The pulled pork had 0 smoke flavor. It was NOT hickory smoked. Hush puppies were cold and rock hard. Quite rude on the phone and same when we got there. They only had brisket and pulled pork tonight.

Would love to know how they stay open? Went there to get just a simple Lil Joe basket. Walking in absolutely NO other costumers were there. Lady behind the counter was doing nothing but complaining to the lady in the kitchen about her schedule. Lady in the kitchen made eye contact 2x and still never stopped her co worker from complaining and offer to take my order. After 3min of her complaining rather than taking an order I decided I wasn’t about to get lunch here today 12-15-25. Even sadder was as I walked away still nothing from either lady.

I understand businesses close at certain times, but how you treat people still matters. We were walking up when the sign was turned to “closed,” and when we asked about it, the response was rude and unwelcoming. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary. Customer service goes a long way, and this place completely missed the mark.

Maurice BBQ is the real deal! The brisket is smoked to perfection—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The ribs had the perfect balance of smoky and sweet, and the sides like mac & cheese and baked beans are straight fire. The staff is friendly and makes you feel right at home, and the vibe of the place is laid-back and welcoming. Definitely one of the best BBQ spots around—I’ll be coming back for sure!

An empty parking lot during the lunch rush should have been my first clue to stay away. I really wanted to have some Carolina BBQ after being away from my SC home for so many years. This place was pretty disappointing. Gets two stars because the hash, while greasy, was not horrible.

Old timers so it’s not like it used to be. The fries were not good at all. The Little Joe was good with extra Maurice BBQ sauce it was a little dry. The counter person warmed up adventually but not a friendly demeanor lol

A great experience! Maurice’s was mentioned in the 2018 Southern Living magazine for best BBQ in SC and they were right! Phenomenal food, mustard based smoke meat. A great meal for BBQ lovers!
