Sooo good! Best bbq I’ve found in lapeer. There meat especially the brisket actually taste like it was smoked vs other bbq places in the area that are selling you pot roast and calling it brisket. Our server Heather F was absolutely amazing, can’t wait to go back.

Im fairly disappointed in my experience here. Particularly with the food, and cost. We paid roughly $50 for two people with take out, two double meat combo platters with a few sides. Everything was either dry or flavorless. The ribs were the worst, sadly. I ordered the ribs as meat only and got bone in anyways (not a huge deal), it was dry and flavorless. I had to drench it in the spicy bbq sauce (best part of the entire meal) just to get some flavor. The pulled chicken wasnt as bad, it definitely tasted better but still dry. The corn bread was also dry, bland, and abnormally stiff with each bite. The mac was just plain flavorless. Somehow, all the food was lukewarm fresh out of the kitchen (noted by my wife who started eating in the car). Last note: you better order the extra sauce, as they hardly put any sauce on my wife’s platter. Now, I’ll admit this was all ordered on Superbowl Sunday, maybe that’s why it was such a subpar experience? Maybe its better during a regular weekday lunch? The seating area looked nice and comfortable. Overall I cant say I’d reccomend this joint, though I had been dying to try it for ages. Hopefully im just a one off.

The burnt ends from Maude’s Alabama BBQ were absolutely delicious! Perfectly smoked, tender, and packed with that deep, rich barbecue flavor every bite had just the right balance of smoky sweetness and caramelized char. You can tell the meat was slow cooked with care, and the sauce complemented it beautifully without overpowering the flavor. The best advice I can give you, get the white bbq sauce, it’s flat out incredible.

The only downside was the portion size it felt a little pricey for how much you get. Still, the quality and taste made it worth trying, and it’s clear they take real pride in their barbecue. Overall, a flavorful and satisfying dish that leaves you wanting just a little more!

This is for Heather!
We were in on Saturday afternoon. It was BUUUSYYY, which was amazing to see. But I really wrote this review for our server Heather. That girl was a rockstar. She was the host, cashier, and server. This girl had the phone ringing, while seating multiple BIG tables at once, greeting us, getting our drink orders, while telling the person on the phone to please hold she then proceeded to get our tables drinks, we had about six people with us, she turned around and got two more tables (that sat same time as us) drink orders, mind you, she’s not writing any of this down, runs to the back and I hear her get on the phone and take the person’s order on the phone, and not even 5 minutes later. This girl is running out with a tray full of drinks for all of these tables who sat at once and didn’t even mess up one of the drinks. She then comes out with three orders of pork rinds for all of the tables, including us. This girl was beyond a rock star. She was extremely attentive, so polite, so sweet but definitely had a fiery side to her when my husband was cracking jokes with her, she turned around and gave it right back to him and we loved that. In an atmosphere that I’m sure was pretty overwhelming for her, the laughs were just the cherry on top for the experience. She said she thrives in that type of atmosphere. Okay, go ahead then I’m not quite sure where they found her at but we need one of her in every restaurant we visit. We will definitely be back and we hope that we get Heather again. She was just an amazing, knowledgeable and attentive server. Knew every answer to every question. It could have went the opposite way, she could have gotten stressed and overwhelmed and messed everything up but she didn’t. She was a rockstar. She was on top of everything. Even that phone ringing off the hook.. People coming in for a takeout’s as she’s taking people’s orders at the table. I mean this girl just didn’t stop. And the food?!? Oh the foooooood was so good! Those burnt ends they should be illegal THANK YOU HEATHER, THANK YOU MAUDES ALABAMA! WE LOVE YALL and We will be back!

Ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was to fry for my liking but with the KC BBQ sauce made it a little better, the bun was very good. Ordered boneless wings which were also way to dry and didn’t finish but the rub on them was amazing, wish I would have gone traditional and they looked way juicier! as always the wetter the better ;-p. Beans had an overall good flavor and good portion of pork mixed in. Place was very clean and service was friendly. Would go back to try some other items!

This place is a hidden gem! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food is absolutely delicious and generous portions. I had the pulled pork, smoked chicken sandwich, and decatur tator bowl with pulled pork. All were cooked to perfection. They also have a great selection of sides, all with that classic Southern flavor. And to top it all off, they have a cool little store in the front where you can buy their rubs and seasonings and swag so you can recreate their magic at home. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Alabama BBQ experience!

The greeter, server, and cashier were all the same person, but she was excellent in all she did. The food, not so much. I ordered 2 beef ribs that cost $10. The size and toughness of the meat were not worth the price. The amount of gristle and fat to meat ratio was about 75/25, with the ribs being about the circumference of a 4 Oz. steak. Overcooked chicken wings were next and while the flavor was OK, again, hard and chewy on the palate.

My mom, sister, and I stopped in for lunch on Saturday. First time for all of us. We were pleasantly surprised! Everything was delicious, and our server was very friendly and attentive. A ton of food for the prices, we all left with to go boxes. We will definitely return, thanks again!

Was excited to try this place but will never go back. Brisket had zero smoke flavor, no smoke ring, was overdone and just really sad piece of meat. The Mac n cheese, well it was noodles with spice and something that maybe once resembled cheese..horrible. Corn muffins were days old and the coleslaw was ok. As a former bbq restaurant manager..I can seriously say do not waste your money.
