Wonderful little place that I accidentallt discovered. The brisket was tender and juicy. And the ribs were fantastic, with just enough chew to satisfy the primordial beast in me. Lots of places claim to be great BBQ, I’m happy to say Maude’s exceeds that claim. Yum!

Employee stated they’re waiting for their food shipment. They did not have everything on their menu available, unfortunately. Employee wouldn’t substitute a meat for another meat which was/is very odd not to do if a meat is not available. Sits 14 people fairly comfortably. Seems clean from just visual inspection. Did state to Employee I am Food critic that travels everywhere to try foods. I ordered half lb of brisket, fried and potato dippers.
Brisket itself was a 2.5 out of 5 star. Should be a lot more tender less fatty without BBQ added. Bbq should be added by customer.
Other than that Good hospitality, friendly staff for a smaller BBQ spot.

Pending review on recent order. I wasn’t satisfied, and Olivia assured me that I would be made whole. My first ever visit maybe a year ago was great. Rib tips were nice, firm yet tender, and sauced just right. The cornbread was really good, the rest of the sides well, kinda blah. 2nd visit today 2024 the okra was amazing. Potato dippers were nice and hot, but there was no dip. I will update this review once Olivia and I get these burnt ends together. The service here is exceptional! The lady coloring in the lobby was amazing.
Update: Olivia came through, as she promised. This time, the ends we’re much better. A bit too much sauce for my taste. The burnt ends were tasty but didn’t seem smoked to me. Ijs. Good nonetheless! Will I visit again; yeah I will. Next time I’ll try a pulled pork sandwich. I hear it’s a bit of alright. I am going to include my before and after photos. The 1st 4 are before. The last 2 was after

Disappointing after seeing such high reviews… I think they gave me food from the previous day. Brisket, Chicken wings and Mac and cheese were horribly dry. Fries were the only thing hot and fresh.

Maude’s Alabama BBQ is must eat at restaurant in the Flint metro! The wait in driving time to get to Maude’s is worth it! The wait for your order is worth it! The BBQ reflects the flavors and recipes of Alabama. The offerings are what you expect and hope to find at a good BBQ joint! The BBQ sauce is flavorful and barely tips toward the sweet sweet side of scale. It is delightful on the pulled pork, chicken, brisket, and ribs. The portions are filling. The side dishes are varied and tasty! My favorite sides are the baked beans and fried okra! They sell their own seasoning mixes for chicken and pork. They have homemade desserts. They have their “Alabama White Sauce” for purchase.
The restaurant is clean and brightly lit with several large windows. Note: they do not have a public restroom. The staff are efficient, friendly, and helpful! We live the staff.
Maude’s is located on Davison Rd. just east of Dort Highway. They have a location in Lapeer, which has been opened going on 2 years.
I will be going back many times!

Do you have an advertised special on Tuesdays for rib tips? Every time that I try to order them on Tuesday before 1 o’clock, they are always out of rib tips. This has happened on 4 different occasions.

What a fantastic barbecue joint!!!! Having lived close to KC, MO, I know what good barbecue really is! Maude’s is excellent!!!! The portions are huge, the flavors are amazing, and the prices are reasonable! Definitely worth the visit!!!
