Hadn’t been here in a while but it was great to go back and see the spot as reliable as ever!

I got the Five Spot Platter with hashbrowns. It was good even though it wasn’t hot when I received it. I look forward to eating there in person.

I visited here today with a girlfriend. I got the waffle and bacon with a side of eggs and the raspberry honey lemonade. My friend had the Hog and chick with a strawberry honey lemonade. Everything was delicious and served hot. I love Matt’s! I will definitely be back!

I’ve heard of this place and seen the reviews on Google so I thought I would give it a try since I’ve been to almost every breakfast place around downtown Phoenix. I was highly disappointed I don’t know what is so popular about this place to me they are NOT even better than Denny’s. I ended up ordering the blueberry short stack and those pancakes when even good I did not even finish them and the sausage didn’t even taste like sausage. If you look at my reviews I rarely complain about a place I have ate at. So if you want to review you can trust I’m giving you an honest one and and that is I do not recommend this place. The only reason l’m giving it to stars is because the servers were kind and friendly and the service was fast

It is a great place for breakfast and brunch in Phoenix. Kind of a kitschy, grunge sort of atmosphere with unfinished floors and metal chairs that grind in the floor as you pull them in and out. We went on a weekday in spring, and it wasn’t busy at all. I enjoyed the Tuesday sausage and gravy special with huge chunks of sausage. I will say I could have used a bit more gravy in it, but many was it tasty. We all loved the hit cakes. They were fantastically fluffy and filling, and the syrup was darn tasty to boot. Try the honey lemonade if you get a chance… freshly squeezed, and you can taste the difference. My wife loved the coffee and made a point of saying it was some of the better tasting she has had in Arizona so far!

Out of state. Was recommended we eat here. Our party got the Hog & Chick, The Big Papa Burrito, Blueberry Griddle Cakes & I had the Cheddar Cheese Omelet with sausage & mushrooms. It was a PERFECTLY done omelet. The best I’ve ever had. Everyone else thought it was delicious. Waiter was friendly & attentive without being obtrusive. Pleasant dining experience.

Do you want elevated diner food? This is the spot. Even if you’re just ordering sausage, eggs, toast, and potatoes, they’re all so much more delicious than they should be. The pancakes are hot off the griddle and as fluffy and buttery as you could hope for. This is an Arizona staple breakfast joint and there’s no question why. Thanks Matt!

I don’t like the chairs that they have available for the customer and it was very loud with the music and the different people having different conversations and the child that wouldn’t stop screaming and the thing about that is that the parents wouldn’t try to calm their child down, that was very annoying. Won’t be going to Matt’s Big Breakfast again at least as long as they have those very uncomfortable chairs, the freshly squeezed orange juice was very delicious, my breakfast was the hog and chick, very ordinary yet still tasty.

Food was good, I was thrown off that they don’t have traditional sodas & the menu was kind of small. Cute place though with good hasbrowns.
